2026 | January Reading Wrap Up

Blog Site Images

Hello, Everyone!

I can’t believe we are already saying goodbye to January! It was a pretty calm month for the most part. I canned twelve pints of beef bone stock and four pints of chicken bone broth. One of my personal goals for 2026 is to learn how to  safely process and can things I’ve never done before. We use a lot of chicken and beef stock around the house and my sister gave me Soup Bones so I thought why the hell not! Let me tell you, there are a lot of steps, but seeing that bone stock on my shelf and knowing I can now do this was all worth it! I have no idea what I’ll can in the upcoming months, but I’ll keep you posted!

Anywho, It’s been a pretty chill month which means I’ve been reading a lot! The book funk that hung along for far too long is officially in the rear view mirror! I read seven books this month! That is a recent record for me. I’ve also decided to make it a mission to not review everything I read. I’m saving my review energy for ARCs and for books that I really enjoyed. Life is going to get busy and I want to get back into the mode of enjoyable reading. So let’s dive into the books that I read this month!

kindleunlimited Books I Read In January:

I read four books in kindleunlimited and I really enjoyed them all! Last year, I started to read the Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Riders MC Series and I started to love it. I thought this would be a great way to start my new year. Quickie reads and all the insta love vibes. I really enjoyed Wild Valenting, Wild Promises, Wild Love and Wild Child. My favorite of the four was Wild Love! Definitely worth the read if you like strong connections and igniting chemistry!

Wild Valentine: A grumpy mountain man and city girl romance (Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC Book 7) Wild Promises: A Runaway Bride Instalove Romance (Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC Book 8) Wild Love: An ex-military insta love romance (Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC Book 9) Wild Child: A Forbidden Love Age Gap Romance (Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC Book 10)

Speaking of quickie reads. Taking The Virgin by Veronica Banks was a kindleunlimited recommendation probably because I read Sadie King’s books. I’m all about the quick reads right now… I wasn’t vibing on this one though. I gave it a two star rating. thirty-six pages is not enough time for a romance novel.

Physical Books I Read In January:

If you saw my book haul you may have noticed this book on the list of books I bought in January! I picked up Unexpected Fate by Harper Sloan at my favorite used book store this month. Slowly, I’ve been picking up the Hope Town series one book at a time! As soon as I brought this book home, I cracked it open and spent all day reading it! I freaking adored Cohen and Dani’s story! My heart is content, happy and free falling! I loved this one so much and I can’t wait to read more from this series!

I also finished another book I recently bought at the old local used book store. Play Me by Kimberly Kincaid wasn’t at all what I expected it to be. I really enjoyed the connection between Emilio and Sophie. My only hesitation was the fact that I wished it were longer. I would have loved to dive deeper into Emilio’s passion and see him living his dreams. I also would have loved to see Sophie get her happily ever after not only with Emilio but also with her father/daughter relationship. Bottom line, this one needed to be longer! I can guarantee it would have easily been a five star read for me.

My Favorite Book of The Month Is:

Unexpected Fate (Hope Town Book 1)

It should come as no surprise to see Unexpected Fate by Harper Sloan in my top spot this month. I loved Dani and Cohen! These two are the epitome of couple goals and meant to be. I laughed and I cried. Harper Sloan brought those perfect ALL THE FEELS moments to the table.
