One of my missions in 2025 is to read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. One thing I have to warn everyone if they start this journey, these novels are not standalones. It is vital you read them in the correct reading order. If you decide to skip a book, you may miss some important information. One thing I love about the two books I read, so far, is the fact that there are multiple pov chapters. You never know who’s going to pop up on the next page. It’s an interesting take and never a dull moment!
Lover Eternal is the second book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This novel is all about Rhage, the beast that lives within him, and the woman who is willing to sacrifice everything for the both of them. This is my second time reading Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward, and I have to say, it hit a bit different this time around. Last time, I was all about Rhage and his struggle keeping his inner beast controlled. This time around, I was all about Mary and discovering the person she is all over again. My heart broke repeatedly for her and her diagnosis. My heart also broke for Rhage. This vampire warrior finally found the woman he wanted for all of eternity, and to learn the human who owns his heart is sick with cancer, my heart shattered over and over and over for the two of them.
I cannot wait to continue on with this series. So far, I am loving the hell out of this world!
