Goals & Challenges

2025 Challenges and Goals

ER

It’s 2025!! When the hell did this happen?! It feels like I just graduated from high school… Next year (2026), will mark twenty years since I graduated!! UGH, When I say don’t blink… I mean every word. The older I get, the more time seems to fly bye. Not to mention, my oldest nephew will be graduating high school this year. Please, somebody, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

Life & Home Goals:

I have a feeling this year is going to be just as chaotic as the couple that came before. I have a few personal goals and challenges I want to get through by the end of 2025. The typical goal of losing weight and gaining a healthier lifestyle are high up on this list. Another goal of mine is to learn more about herbs, holistic wellness, and be more mindful where nature is concerned. It’s something I’ve always been interested in learning about.

Mr. Man and I are going to start renovations back up once the season of spring hits. Hopefully, by this time next year we will have a finished living room and an official dining room. I’m excited to go furniture shopping. That feature can’t come soon enough given the fact that our couch, that was purchased by Mr. Man’s grandmother in the 1970’s recently broke. Mr. Man patched it up, but as of right now, I’m not sure how long that patch job will last. I think it’s on it’s last life. So this will take up a good portion of our spring into the early summer.

The garden is going to be a bit smaller this year, which means we get to take a slight break from canning. I am going to try and grow something new this year. I’ve done a tone of researching when it comes to Luffa’s and I’ve decided to try and grow my own Luffa Gourds! So that will be exciting and will make for some really interesting homemade Christmas gifts.

Mr. Man and I want to start planting pine trees (for the holiday seasons) and fruit trees on the farm. So that will be another adventure that will most likely suck up a lot of our time.

And that is enough with my Personal Goals and Challenges. It’s time to share all the reading goals and challenges I have set for 2025. I have high expectations this year when it comes to my blog and my reading. This year is going to be somewhat similar to last years challenges and goals. So if you see a few repeat moments, It’s because I feel like I can do better this year. Let’s get started!

2025 Challenges

Serious About Series Challenge

I really enjoyed this challenge last year, so I thought, why not bring it back for this year. In 2025 I plan to complete three series. I decided to stick with three instead of five because one of the series has 20-ish books in it! Here are the three series I plan to read in 2025. YOu can check out my Serious About Series 2025 Challenge page HERE.

If you seen my most recent book haul, you may notice I picked up all the books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward that I was missing. Now I can officially give this series a read in its entirety. Long story short, I have a hard time staying on top of a series this long, if I don’t have all the books in my sights. I read the first two books a few years ago, loved them, and because I hadn’t purchased the third book in the series, I forgot all about it… sadly, with all the books releasing every day, that is how my mind works. Now that the books are staring at me on my shelf, I will definitely be reading this series and the spinoffs this year!

The next series I plan to read this year is the Flight And Glory Series by Rebecca Yarros. I LOVED the first book in this series, Full Measures, so much I couldn’t help but purchase the next three books when I say them at my local used books store. I will definitely be marathoning this series as soon as possible!

And the last Series in this challenge is the Ravenhood Series by Kate Stewart. I’m new to Kate Stewart, but after reading the reviews I definitely think this will be a series that I am going to love. We shall see!!

100 Books Reading Challenge:

I decided to keep my goodreads reading challenge to 100 books. I did not accomplish this challenge last year, but I’m hoping I will this year. You can Check out my 100 Books Reading Challenger Page HERE.

My Bookshelf Challenge:

Here is another challenge I’ve decided to bring back from last year. Last year my goal was to read 15 books from my bookshelf… and sadly, I only read one book. This year, I raised that number to twenty. If I stick with my serious about series challenge, I will pass 20 books in the blink of an eye!

New To Me Author Challenge:

I’m also bringing back the New To Me Author Challenge. I accomplished this challenge last year by reading 15 new to me authors. I’m hoping to accomplish it again in 2025 by reading 15 more new to me authors!

Beat The Backlist Challenge:

I did not accomplish this challenge last year, but I’m hoping I will in 2025! Due to my Serious about Series Challenge, I decided to keep the goal set at 50 books on this list. That will give me some more space to throw some books that aren’t included in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series on this list!

Is KindleUnlimited Worth It Challenge:

This is a challenge I set for myself every year. If there ever is a year where the Kindle Unlimited Subscription cost exceeds the amount of books I read within the program than it’ll let me know it’s not worth it. Last year it was well worth the price of the yearly subscription.  so I’ll be continuing on with this challenge this year!

2025 Goals

My goals for this year are the same as my goals for last year. I’m a creature of habit. I like to find what I can do to approve my ways, and stick to it. I’m not a fan of resolutions, because let’s face the cold hard facts, I never stick to a resolution. So instead, I make expectations that need work lists for myself. That way, If a number on the list hasn’t been followed through by the end of 2025, I won’t feel like a total failure. (LOL) So let’s get started with my goals for 2025!

Reading Goals:

1. The Infamous ‘Do Not Finish’ Goal. Last year I DNF’d more books than I had ever DNF’d in my life. And the world didn’t end!! I’ve come to the conclusion, everybody has different tastes in reading material. Some novels that work for others, aren’t going to work for me. I faced the hard fact, I’m not going to love or even like every novel I pick up. So in conclusion, it’s okay to set a novel down and move on from that particular story. This freed up more time to read books that captured my attention.

2. This past year, with life and personal goals, I found it hard to find reading time. So, I’m bringing back a goal from 2024. I’m going to set 1 hour to devout to reading before I go to sleep. Let’s see if this goal wrings true by the end of 2025…

3. I want to read more sub-genres in the romance genre. I really want to read more romantasy novels and more paranormal type reads. So I’m making it a goal to push more of those tropes and sub-genres up my tbr shelf.

Blogging Goals:

1.  Like last year, the number one blogging goal of mine is to be more frequent when posting. I want to be more mindful when it comes to posting and scheduling not only with my blog but with my social media accounts too.

2. I really want to invest more time to my bookstagram in 2025. I have this sudden need to be creative and I think Bookstagram is exactly what I need!

3.  I also want to be more social on my blog and the blog’s that I currently follow. I have a shy bone and I’m kind of an introvert, so please bare with me. I feel like I was somewhat better with this goal last year. So I’m hoping I can continue on with my progress throughout 2025!

This year is going to be the year of personal growth for me. I’m going to take the time and get to know the person within this body. I feel like I lost touch with the person I used to be, and after having a discussion with Mr. Man, he feels the same way. It’s a strange feeling with you are a couple steps and a knock away from forty years old, and you don’t know who you are anymore. Like I told him, I’m going to take it one day at a time! I’m excited for this journey and with a great man by my side, I know it’s going to make life ever better!

With that being said, I hope you all have a wonderful and fulfilled 2025! Here’s to a new chapter for what is going to be a great book!
