M. Robinson & Rachel Van Dyken have proven, once again, they could very well be the next dynamic duo when it comes down to dark and forbidden romances. Falling For The Villain isn’t for the light hearted. This book is dark, raw, and gritty. It deals with situations that some may or may not find triggering. I’m also not going to give a play by play this time around. This novel can easily be spoiled, and I’m not about that life. My thoughts are down below.
Sensuality, Danger, and Angst!!!
That’s what you get when you dive into Juliet and Donovan’s story.
These two were forbidden in the best ways. I wanted to hate Donovan because he’s, obviously, the villain of the story.But the more I read, the more my heart beat faster for the fool hearted man. The hatred I felt for this abductor slowly morphed into understanding and love… and now I’m sitting here wondering wtf is wrong with me.
I’m fairly new to the pet/master trope. I feel like this is a dangerous trope to work with and the novel can go one of two ways. It can either make for a cringe-fest read or it can be intriguing as hell. I found Falling For The Villain to be intriguing. The more I read, the more I uncovered and loved. Halfway through the novel I found myself cheering Juliet and Donovan on. I needed the ultimate happily ever after for these two!
Now onto why I rated this a 3 ½ stars….. Simple, I wanted more. I needed more backstory from both characters and I wanted more of an insight into their thoughts. But for the most part I enjoyed this one. It also has to be said, M. Robinson and Rachel Van Dyken brought the big guns out when dealing out those sexy time scenes. The lust factor is HIGH with this one. If you like your romances more on the erotica side of the spectrum then definitely give this one a try.
