Synopsis:
His military training didn’t prepare him for life as a single dad…
There was a surprise waiting for me when I got back from the military. A screaming, pooping, noisy surprise.
I’m a hard man, a biker who loves the quiet of the mountains. But my quiet life is shattered by the infant who’s relying on me.
Her mother passed, and I’m all she has . . . until her aunt turns up trying to get custody of my baby.
April would be infuriating if she wasn’t so hot.
But where was she when the baby needed her family? And why has she only just surfaced now?

Wild Forever is the Fifth book in Sadie King’s Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider’s MC Series. This standalone short story is told from both Grant and April’s point of view.
Grant never pictured him being a single father to a baby girl, but after a wild not of decompressing that led to a one night stand later, unbeknownst to him, he’s a father. A year and a half later, Grant is finding himself looking into his baby girls eyes, he’s the sole guardian of something so precious and he’ll do everything in his power to protect his daughter from any harm that may come her way. He’s soon to learn, he isn’t the only one fighting for this precious baby.
April is on a mission to reclaim the only family member she has left in this world, and she’ll fight every fight she can to get her niece back. Even if that means climbing a damn mountain to find the man who claims to be the father of her niece.
But when April finds Grant, she no longer sees him as the sketchy man that she once pictured him as… He’s kind, considerate, and protective. He’s everything she would want as a father for her niece… the only problem she sees is she wants Grant for herself too.
My Thoughts:
I’ve felt myself getting a little bored of this story, and I honestly thought about ending it with the last book. But something deep inside of me told me to pick Wild Forever up and give it a shot. I really enjoyed April and Grant’s story…. Did I love it? Eh, there were moments I loved but overall this one was a like. What can I say aside from what I’ve already said… Bottom line, I wanted more depth with not only the characters but the storyline too. And that is why I gave Wild Forever a 3 star rating….
So with the negative out of the way, let’s get to the positive thoughts. Let’s start with April. I really loved April’s back story and her determination to see that her niece is well taken care of. Without giving spoilers away, let’s just say, I love the fact that she took her own wellness in her hands and did something about her struggles. Too many times, when the topic of addiction comes up, It’s the secondary characters that help the main character through the hard parts. I loved the fact that April saw she needed help and put in the work to clean herself up. My heart wept for this woman and all she went through!
And then we have Grant. I loved Grant and his open-minded ways. When life threw him curveballs, he swung with all his might and hit a grandslam! I loved this man as a single father, but I think I loved him more as the man who stole April’s heart. When Grant found out about April’s past, my first thoughts were… oh lord, here comes the breakup drama. However, Sadie King shocked the hell out of me for writing a level headed man! Grant didn’t run and he didn’t push April away. He never held his daughter over April’s head, and he never used his daughter as leverage to get what he wanted. My heart legit loved the heck out of this man! Grant is the epitome of what a book boyfriend is!
Overall, I enjoyed Wild Forever, but I wanted and needed more in order to push my rating up a couple notches. I wanted more moments between Grant, April, and the baby girl. I wanted more moments between Grant and April that weren’t in the sexual manner. I wanted more conversations, more longing glances, and more sweet words. I wanted to feel the chemistry and the connection between these two grow further. Bottom line, I’m a spoiled reader. However, if you are a fan of single father romances that won’t take up a lot of reading time, this may be the one for you.
