Synopsis:
A single mom in danger and the ex-military biker who becomes her protector…
I found her on the doorstep with a baby in her arms.
A woman on the run, as damaged as I am.
We each have our demons from the past. Mine are internal and harder to fight, remnants from my days in the military. But I can take on Trish’s demons.
When her ex comes to claim her, he doesn’t expect to find an entire MC club of hardened ex-military mountain men fighting her corner.
Because I’ll do anything to protect my wild runaway.
Wild Runaway is a single mom in danger, MC-lite romance featuring an ex-military protector hero and the curvy woman who runs away with his heart.
Authors note: Wild Runaway is a steamy instalove novella that can be read in about two hours. If you love a quickie, then dive on in!

Wild Runaway is the third book in Sadie King’s Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider’s MC series. Now it’s time for the wildest man of them all to find love. And be warned, this one comes with a hint of mystery and suspense.
Serving his country has taught Joseph one thing, putting your trust in humanity is pointless. That is why Joseph lives in the deepest part of the mountain side, by himself. All he needs in life is his freedom, silence only the mountain can bring, and his brothers.
Trish is on the run from a life she’d like to put in the past, there’s only one problem. She and her baby girl are stuck in the middle of a mountain on her sister’s front porch, with nobody home, and no money to her name.
A random trip to drop off deer meat to one of his brothers has fate intervening in Joseph’s life, when he spots the scared woman standing on Kobe and Hailey’s front porch with a baby in her arms. The sight of a woman and her child has Joseph wanting to do all he can to protect them from any harm. He’s no longer picturing life alone… his thoughts are running deeper with one glance.
My Thoughts:
I was expecting a sweet romance with some swoon and a bit of spice. Basically, the same premise the first two books in the series gave. What I was not expecting was the suspense and mystery that came with Trish and her background story. Oh my, my heart felt so heavy for this woman and her baby. Her comes a trigger warning, Trish’s story deals with domestic violence. I do, however, love the fact that Sadie King does not go into much detail on the abuse Trish suffered. The detail comes when Trish talks to Joseph about her situation. So it’s a little easier to read for those that find this subject to be triggering.
I loved Trish’s story of redemption and rising above the ashes. When shit hit the fan, she grabbed her baby’s bag and hit the road. I also loved the fact that she, unbeknownst to her, just happened to run into the roughest man she could possibly find! Yeah, no harm is coming her way, ever again! My heart loved the fact that being around Joseph had Trish breathing easily. After the ordeal she went through, this woman deserves all the protection in the world… Don’t get me wrong though, her past did not turn Trish into a meek scared animal. This woman found her ironclad spine and she’s not afraid to use it in any means possible to protect her daughter.. I also loved this about her.
My heart swooned for Joseph! This man is rough, but Trish and her daughter bring out a softer, gentler, and calmer side that he didn’t know he still had. I loved the emotional transition Joseph went through throughout this novel. I loved watching him quickly fall in love. What can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic…
I gave Wild Runaway 3 ½ Stars due to the fact that I wanted so much more! UGH! I wasn’t ready to close the book on Joseph, Trish, and Baby Rose’s story! I wanted to see Joseph caring for his children. I wanted to see Joseph teach Trish and his children how to hunt and survive in the mountains and off the land. I feel like their story ended way too fast for my liking.
Overall, I really enjoyed the romance aspect of Runaway Love by Sadie King, I just needed a little bit more from the storyline…. If you’re looking for a novel you can read in an hour check this one out. If you love spicy, yet sweet, romance novels with an age gap, a single mother, and a burly mountain man… this may be the one for you!
