Question Of The Day:
How do you choose your next read?
My Answer:
I have a strategy for how I pick my next read that tends to work for me, that is unless I’m feeling a book funk or I feel like going off script for a few days. I try to stick to a monthly and seasonal reading list. I keep a list of all monthly new releases I’m anticipating and then I’ll pick my top three most anticipated for that month, usually those books are given in advanced copy (ARC) form. When I set up my monthly reading list (TBR) I put the arcs at the top of the list, then I’ll read the new releases, and then come the kindleunlimited or paperback books.
That is typically how I plan on what I’m going to read next…. however, I’ve been in a huge book funk and this type of method hasn’t been working for me as of lately. Recently I’m finding the need to read on a whim. Pick a book and give it a shot. What are your methods for picking your next read. Are you more of an in the moment reader or do you follow a strict reading schedule?

Peace Love and Happy Reading,

I’m a total pick at a moment reader but I’ve noticed lately that it is causing me to not read as much as I would like to because I spend so much time picking the “perfect” next read. I’m trying to experiment this month by picking my next read before I finish my current read to cut down on picking time.
I may have to try this method, again! Maybe I can cut down on all the mental chaos that is my current never ending tbr pile.
You’re great at lists. I tend to mood read, especially lately.
I’m great at creating the lists, following them, now that’s another story (Haha). I’m trying to do better with completing my reading lists. It’s so hard to do with all the wonderful new romances releasing on a daily basis. Ugh, the struggles of a reader are real!
