Chase
Everyone expected me to play hockey.
I was good at it, but I was better at being a doctor.
So I hung up the skates and joined Doctors without Borders
But there is no place like home, so now I’m back.
And instead of being on the ice, I’m behind the bench as the team physician.
After years of playing cat and mouse, it’s time to admit it.
She’s mine.
Julia
Working as a social worker was a dream come true.
It wasn’t easy, and it has made me shut off my heart to love.
No commitment. No strings. No promises.
Until one fateful night changed everything.
He was there for me like no other one.
The biggest thing is I let him.
Maybe he was just made for me!

Made For Me is the first book in Natasha Madison’s Made For Series. The Made For series is a generational spin-off series. It has to be said, if you want the best of this hockey world, my recommendation is to start at the beginning. (Something So Series, This Is Series, The Only One Series, and then Made For Me.) Technically Made For Me can be read as a standalone. But the mention of unfamiliar characters may throw you through a loop. In some instances, that happened to me. I had to go back and recall who Max, Matthew, and a few other characters were. It also has to be said, I plan on going back and binge reading Natasha Madison’s hockey world…. These characters are intriguing as hell! My curiosity is piqued!!
Now let’s get to the point of why I’m here. Today I’m here to review Made For Me by Natasha Madison. Made For Me is the first book in the Made For series, this romance is told from Chase Grant and Julia William’s point of view. I highly recommend you all have a box of tissues on hand. This novel has some heavy doses of reality mixed within the romance.
Chase Grant has everything he could ever want from an awesome career as a doctor to a supportive family, what more could a man want out of life…. The night everything changed course for Chase was a night of complete devastation for Julia. That night, Chase’s heart made a promise, he’d never see Julia cry that way again. And if she did cry, he’d be there to hold her through every tear.
Julia Williams lives her life protecting the innocent and helping those in dire need, as a social/case worker. Monica and Penelope (Mother/daughter) are the toughest case she’s ever worked on. One night of destruction has all of Julia’s work crumbling in her hands. Little does she know, her world is about to get darker…
My Thoughts:
I went into this novel thinking it was a romantic comedy given a few tags on reviews I had seen.…. Well, that was 90% NOT the case. So, if you see the same tags I saw… Just know, I found humor in a few chapters but the majority of this novel is riddled with angst. And sticking to this honesty thing, I have to say, there were a few moments that had me shedding a tear or two.
Now let’s get to the characters, starting with Chase Grant. I loved the tenderness this man showed throughout this novel. I expected another manwhore hockey star who suddenly changed his ways for the woman he loves… but that wasn’t the case. This man started off as a sweetheart and only grew from there. My heart held on to this man and wouldn’t let go. I think my favorite moment between Chase and Julia was in the hospital when he first saw her in the ambulance. That single moment of fear Chase felt, not knowing if Julia was okay, even though she wasn’t the one on the gurney, showed us that Chase was in it for the long haul. His head may have needed a little bit of time to catch up, but I saw it clear as day, his heart was already racing towards the finish line. I also loved the way he cared for her, as she was going through the processing stage. He was the epitome of what a knight in shining armor is. It also has to be said, this man can turn from sweetheart to alphamale in less than a second. Don’t piss him off, and don’t threaten those he loves! There isn’t a single thing I didn’t love about Chase!!
Now onto Julia… I loved how deeply caring and independent she was. I also loved the fact that she was just as soft and as fragile as the rest of us are. My heart broke time and time for the situation she was put in, all in the name of helping those in need. Honestly, her character gave me a stronger sense of what goes on in the day to day life of a social/case worker…. And it scared the hell out of me. I really feel for those who choose this career to help those in need. They often get dealt a shit hand when tragedy strikes. I’m not ashamed to admit, I cried a few tears for Julia and all she was going through. She deserves all the happiness she received at the end of this novel!
Now for the reasoning behind why I rated this novel a 4 star read.. Penelope (the little girl Julia was assigned to) is the main reasoning behind why I dropped a star on this novel. At the beginning of Made For Me, her and her mother seemed to be a really big part of the story. And throughout Penelope was mentioned more and more… but sadly, there weren’t many scenes with her in it. I would have liked to see more scenes with Penelope and Julia. Or even some scenes with Penelope and Doctor Chase, other than mere mentions of her in random conversation. But that’s just me, call it spoiled reader syndrome… I just wanted a few more moments to show the reader’s that this little one would be okay, mentally and emotionally.
Overall, I loved the chemistry between Chase and Julia. I also loved the slow-burn approach to this one. The romance was off the charts. Chase and Julia’s story was hot as hell and sweet as sugar. My heart was invested in this one. I just wanted a little bit more where Penelope was concerned. I am definitely going to go back and read Natasha Madison’s hockey world from front to back. I have a feeling I’m missing out on so many wonderful stories!

Oh wow. Another new generation? That’s crazy! There have been so many! Makes me wonder how old the originals are now.
I’ll definitely have to look into that. I’m hoping to marathon a few of her hockey series’ this year.
