This is a prequel to Jonathan King’s duet and is NOT standalone.

This review is going to be exactly like this prequel short and somewhat mysterious… Basically a review without spoilers and with me being my rambling on and on again self. So let’s get started.
Rule of a Kingdom is a prequel to the first book in Rina Kent’s Kingdom Duet, Reign of a King. If you’re knew to Rina Kent’s Royal-esque world, I highly suggest you go back and read her Royal Elite Series, mainly Aiden King’s story, before diving into the Kingdom Duet. This duet revolves around Aiden’s father, Jonathon. And judging by the context, I have a slight feeling this duet may contain spoilers for Aiden’s story…… And if you’re not already confused, let me throw in another slight tid bit, you don’t really have to read Rule of a Kingdom in order to read Reign of a King. The first three chapters in Reign of a King are the last three chapters of Rule of a Kingdom, if that makes sense.
I did, however, really enjoy the endearing ‘past’ moment between Jonathon teaching his little boy, Aiden, the rules of chess. And if you are familiar with the Royal Elite Series, you are already familiar with the important role, chess, plays in this series.
I really enjoyed this moment between father and son, and honestly, it was the only endearing moment I have felt between Jonathon and Aiden. It was really sweet to see that soft side to both of these characters, no matter the age.
I do have to say, this prequel really has me wanting to marathon Jonathon’s story! I have a feeling this story between him and Aurora is going to be intense!! I’m excited! And that’s where I’m going to end my review and dive deeper into Jonathon King’s story! Bring on the intensity!!
