Synopsis:

She’s off limits. He has none.

There’s a girl.
Beautiful. Popular. Fake.
And my obsession.
My fall.
Probably my damnation.
Did that stop me? Do I care? No and no.
There’s a line between right and wrong. Moral and immoral.
And then there’s her.
I cross every limit with blood-coated fingers.
She says she hates me.
I say I hate her too as I trap her, own her.
Make her all mine.

Ruthless Empire is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a mature new adult and contains situations that some readers might find offensive.

Ruthless Empire is the final book in Rina Kent’s Royal Elite Series. This novel can technically be read as a standalone, given the relationship revolves around a different couple than the prior books. But in all honesty, I feel this book would be best read after reading the first five books in the series. You’ll better understand Cole and Silver’s journey reading from the complete start and getting glimpses of them. Trust me, you’ll hate Silver throughout this journey…. But the interesting thing about Ruthless Empire, I felt more empathy towards her than I did hate.

Because this novel is full of so many incredible twists and turns, I’m going to try to be as spoiler-free as I possibly can. As you already read, Ruthless Empire is Silver Queens and Cole Nash’s story. If you love the infamous Step-Brother trope, with alpha-male BDSM tendencies and dark delicious vibes, I have a feeling this will be your favorite amongst the Royal Elite Series.

Silver Queens has lived her life caught between a rock and a hard place… her mother and her father. Growing up in a political family isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when her divorced parents run on opposite sides of the political spectrum. And if all that wasn’t enough for her to deal with, she’s also about to add a stepmother and a stepbrother to the mix. Her father is due to marry the woman who birthed the son she can’t erase from her mind and is her very own traumatizer. Cole Nash.

My Thoughts

Silver is not at all what I was expecting. As I said above, I went into this novel with an intense notion that I would continue to hate Silver throughout the story. And in all honesty, I was excited to read this book due to Cole, but also, dreading to read this book due to Silver. I did not like her character throughout this series….. But then, something happened and my hate for her started to grow more towards the empathetic side. I felt sorry for her, I hurt for her, and darn-it, I wanted to see her grow as a person and finally find her own form of peace and her own happily ever after. I was shocked to find my feelings for this character change in such a drastic way.

But then we have Cole…. I kind of expected a little more crazy from Cole. I wanted to see more of the bdsm side of him. He was such an anomaly and very secretive throughout the first five books in the series, I wanted to see him for the person he was instead of witnessing more of that secretive nature he was so good at showing. I wanted to know Cole Nash, and I didn’t really get that from him, I only got his obsession for Silver and just a few tidbit moments revolving rope and commands.

I was dead set on rating this novel a three star read… and then Rina Kent legit had me struck speechless.. I’m talking jaw hitting the floor speechless! She definitely knows her way around perfectly figuring out where to put the twists and turns! I’m still sitting here wondering how I could not have seen that coming. And for this moment I decided to raise my three star rating to a four star rating!

Overall, I really enjoyed the romance in Ruthless Empire. I loved how stubborn Silver was and the fact that she pushed at each and every one of Cole’s nerves. I also loved the endless banter and the push and pull. I needed a bit more from Cole’s point of view, but overall, it wasn’t a bad read. It was a great addition to the Royal Elite Series. I’m sad to see this chapter come to a close. However, I’m excited to read more from Rina Kent’s Royal Elite World! I can’t wait to see who’s next!
