Vicious Prince is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For a better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a mature new adult and contains situations that some readers might find offensive or triggering.
Vicious Prince is the fifth book in Rina Kent’s Royal Elite Series. If you’re new to this series, I highly recommend you read Aiden/Elsa’s books (#1-#3) and then Xander/Kimberly’s story (#4) before diving into Ronan and Teal’s romance. Also if you find some dark material triggering I highly suggest you go into this one knowing it takes a dark drastic turn. You can read the trigger warning (TW:) at the bottom of my review.

Teal has her mind set on revenge and the vengeance is so close she can almost reach out to touch it. The only thing she has to do now, is to find an in, where the Aster family is concerned. And pledging to marry the heir to the Aster family is her only method.
Ronan Aster isn’t pleased to hear his father has arranged a marriage with the new girl at RES. The very girl he can’t shake. She’s an anomaly to him, tough exterior, but deep inside lives a girl with a book full of secrets…
The more they fight the attraction, the more they grow closer… but what happens when the secrets they each hold onto with a vise grip, ends up being a connection neither one of them saw coming?…. Ohhhh Fate, you fickle b*tch….
My Thoughts:
I’m not going to lie, Rina Kent had my heart weeping for Teal and all she went through as a child…. Throughout this series, since the first time Teal and her twin brother Knox were mentioned, I was always curious about the woman who wore the shirts with the hilarious sayings on them. I loved the fact that Rina Kent matched up the playboy of the four horsemen with the new emo/goth girl. I can’t describe how excited I was when I started Vicious Prince! I knew there was more to Ronan than the man always making jokes and smiling. They don’t refer to him as death for no reason on, and off the field.. That’s a side that only a few are ‘unlucky’ to see. And his sights are set on Teal.
One thing I loved about Teal and Ronan’s story…. All the moments when Teal refused to back down! This woman’s spine is made of pure steel!! And believe me when I say, it drove Ronan crazy not having Teal break and bend to his every wish. She was unapproachable, and it drove him mad. I loved seeing Ronan and his moment of weakness. He actually had to work to gain Teal’s respect and appreciation. Something he’s never had to do before.
Wow! When I say Rina Kent knows her way around writing twists and turns, I’m not lying. This author is spectacular at catching her reader’s off guard. Honestly, every prediction I had was wrong. Which is the reasoning behind why I dropped a star. I gave Vicious Prince 4 stars due to the graphic nature and description of child abuse. I don’t like reading about unwanted sexual abuse in romance novels, I especially don’t like to read it when it involves children. I felt so much rage in these moments, and if I’m being 100% honest, I almost set this novel to the side due to the detailed moments. But something in me had to see Teal and Ronan find their redemption. I do, however, appreciate Rina Kent for not going on and on and on with those moments…. But I could have done without the two flashback scenes….
As for the romance aspect, I loved the fact that Teal and Ronan were complete opposites. It was heartwarming to see how much Ronan cared for Teal once they both started to lower their guards. There is no denying these two were a match made in heaven. Now on to Cole’s story! I have a much greater feeling this man is going to be even more vile and vicious that Aiden, Xander, and Ronan put together. You know what they say about the silent types….. They’re the most deadly!
