Famous in a Small Town, an all new small town, grumpy meets sunshine rock star romance, from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, is now available!
What chance does a small-town girl have with a world-famous rock star?
Two years after his wife’s death, rock star Garrett Hayes hasn’t moved on. But he has moved out of L.A. Where better to escape his past than a small town in the northern California mountains? If only he could get the townsfolk of Wildwood to leave him the hell alone.
Ani Bennet returned to her hometown for some much-needed serenity. The last thing she needs is a grumpy, too hot for his own good, rich and famous rock star living next door—and rent-free in her brain.
She set her fangirl tendencies aside and deleted his photo from her cell when they became neighbors. But when Garrett asks for help, she can’t say no. The problem is, spending time together is making those fangirl feelings resurface—and bringing them to a whole new level.
What chance does a small-town girl have with a world-famous rock star? It’s time for Ani to set her fears aside and find out.

Famous in a Small Town is Kylie Scott’s newest rockstar standalone.
Kylie Scott has this special talent of taking a trope and completely rewriting it and making it her very own, and that’s the reasoning behind why I keep coming back for more. Her talent when it comes to chemistry and connections is uncanny! Every time I pick a book up from her, I try to block off my schedule because I know I won’t be able to put the book down. And it showed within Famous In A Small Town. It was a long night of reading and being swept away in this romance unlike any other out there!
The premise of Famous in a Small Town is basically a rockstar trying to avoid the press due to tragedy that has fallen upon his shoulders. Of course, where’s a better place to hide out than a small town. So with his bags packed, Garrett leaves the city lights of Los Angeles behind him and hightails it down to Wildwood.
But that’s not where the intrigue lies. The intrigue lies within the character of Ani. This woman lit up this novel. You see, Ani is unlike any heroine I have ever read in romance novel land. She’s not only highly independent, but she also has a humorous awkward side to her. I loved the fact that she spoke her truth. I especially loved the moments when she would try to hide her Fan-Girling ways. This woman was a riot to read. Normally, reading a rockstar romance, I’d be all up in the actual Rockstar’s story and loving his/her vibes. But throughout Famous In A Small Town, I felt Ani’s character shined brighter than Garretts. I loved her take on meeting a rockstar and playing the calm, cool and collected girl next door role. I especially loved the fact that Kylie Scott slipped in the fact that Ani suffers from OCD. She has a nightly routine and can’t sleep until that nightly lock and go routine is carried out three, maybe four times. I felt a connection to Ani in these moments. But unlike mine, her OCD stems from a traumatic event that took place a few years back. And that’s all I’m going to say about that, in order to avoid spoilers.
Now let’s talk about Ani and Garrett. These two rocked the pages! I couldn’t put this novel down and my addiction lied within their romance! These two couldn’t be more opposite. Ani is the take home and meet the parents, girl next door type. While Garrett is a rough around the edges grumpy as hell rockstar. I never really got the Grumpy/Sunshine trope, but after reading this one, I’m seriously feeling the need to binge this trope. Another thing I loved about Garrett and Ani, there were no lies and there wasn’t the typical lack of communication conflict authors love to throw in novels to add a bit of drama. These two weren’t in a rush to make things more. They formed a friendship that eventually resulted in an epic romance. So what I’m trying to say is, I loved the slow burn. Sometimes I loathe a slow burn romance, but I felt, given Garretts loss and Ani’s past, the build up was worth it all.
I went into this review thinking I was going to drop a half star on my rating…But after writing my thoughts down, I’ve come to realize I loved this book way more than I originally anticipated. It’s been a day since I finished Famous in a small town, and I’m still sitting here thinking about the beginning and the conclusion. Kylie Scott is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the rockstar romance trope. She brings something different to the table each and every time. I loved Garrett and Ani’s story and this book is deserving of all five stars! It’s definitely one I won’t be forgetting about anytime soon!
