My Review

AHH! I am so thankful I didn’t know of this series’ existence in 2016 because all of these cliffhangers would have driven me up the freaking wall! Helen Hardt just dropped another bombshell of a cliffhanger on me! And holy hell, this series just took another drastic turn.

Possession is the third book in Helen Hardt’s Steel Brothers Saga. This novel is a continuation to the first two books in the series, so I highly recommend you read those two before diving into this one. This novel is another one that revolves around Talon Steel and the horrific nightmare he went through at the young age of ten years old. If Child Abuse of any and all forms is triggering for you, I highly recommend you go into this one with your eyes wide open. There were a few instances when I skipped a few paragraphs due to detailed situations I didn’t have the stomach for. Which is the main reason why I rated this one a four star.

I have to say, even though it was painful to watch, I loved watching Talon grow and move on from his tragedy. I loved the fact that he sought out help when it finally got to be too much and too scary for him to handle. This man shows his strength through his greatest weaknesses. My heart ached time and time for him, and watching him get the help he needed to grow from this situation, healed that ache in my heart. I know, it’s corny to say. But Helen Hardt really did a number on my emotions!

Now onto Jade. It has to be said, I liked her character so much more in this novel than in Obsession. I loved how supportive she was to Talon and his situation. She knew there were secrets and demons swimming in a sea of grief within his head, and not once did  she pressure him to tell her what he was keeping behind that steel door. She waited it out until he was ready to disclose the deepest and darkest moment of his life. I loved her patience. I love how fiercely she loves this man.

But that cliffhanger….. Holy hell, I had a feeling!! And that is all I’m going to say about that!

Overall, I loved the emotional and the healing aspect that came with Talon’s story! I can’t wait to see the growth of his character in upcoming books, but at this moment, I’m excited to see Jonah and what he has to bring to the table. And I can’t wait to finally see these brother’s get the redemption they deserve. I have a feeling the darkness is about to hit an all new level.
