The excitement is real every time I see a novel by Kennedy Fox show up on my kindle! This writing duo has NEVER let me down with their romances. I always finish a novel with a goofy grin on my face and a light happy heart in my chest. The first couple books in the Love In Isolation series have been wins for me, hopefully I can say the same about Tristan and Piper’s story! We shall See!!

My Thoughts:

The End Of Us is the third book in Kennedy Fox’s Love In Isolation Series. One thing I love about this series is the fact that two polar opposites are forced together for the long haul. In this novel Triston is suffering through something only a few percent of people go through. This man not only has PTSD, he also suffered from a terrible injury overseas while fighting for his country. That injury was a result in him becoming a right BKA (below the knee amputee). He also suffers from a terrible case of survivor’s guilt. This man is battling some serious demons. And one of the main reasons why I dropped a star on this novel was due to the fact I wanted more of Tristan’s past. I wanted to see the man he was and the man he’s become after such a tragic event took place. I wanted to see him overcome all of those demons that infiltrated his head. I wanted to see the hero I can imagine him being. This man is as strong as they come! There was a moment with him that I didn’t love every single piece of this man. He’s a beast!!

Now let’s get to the other reason why I dropped a star. The beginning of this novel had me unable to connect with Piper’s character. I saw her as the spoiled vane princess who’s obsessed with popularity and her follower count. I saw her as a woman who has had everything in life handed to her and never had to work a day for what she has. She came off as a bit fake and uninteresting. But as one would say, never judge a book by it’s cover. The more I read, the more I found there was more to this woman than what first met the eye. The more time she spent with Tristan and the more opening up she did, the more I saw her for the person she truly was and not the façade she puts on for her subscribers. The longer they stayed in the cabin in complete isolation the more I started to really like and understand her for the person she is and not the persona she shows everyone. Tristan brought her back to her own version of reality. God bless that man!!

I’m a fan of the bodyguard/protector style romances. Kennedy Fox brought even more to this trope by adding an age-gap and a force proximity vibe to the tale. I was a fan! After the 15 to 20 percent mark I found it hard to put this one down. Especially the moment they found Piper’s stalker went into hiding and Tristan upped his protective instincts. As I said above, this man was a beast!! I can’t wait to see what else Kennedy Fox has to bring to the table!!!
