Release Blitz * Book Review | Exposed – VIP Series, Book Four – Kristen Callihan

Exposed_AmazonExposed (VIP #4) by Kristen Callihan is now live!

Brenna

There are some people in life who know exactly how to push your buttons. For me, it’s Rye Peterson. We can’t spend more than ten minutes together before we’re at each other’s throats, which makes working together that much harder. Rye is the bassist for Kill John, the biggest rock band in the world, and I am his publicist. It doesn’t help that the man is gorgeous, funny, talented, and…never takes anything seriously. Avoidance is key.

But everything changes when he overhears something he shouldn’t: a confession made in a moment of weakness. Now the man I’ve tried so hard to ignore is offering me the greatest temptation of all—him.

Rye

Brenna James is the one. The one I can’t have. The one I can’t get out of my mind. Believe me, I’ve tried; the woman loathes me. I managed well enough—until I heard her say she’s as lonely as I am. That she needed to be touched, held, satisfied. And I could no longer deny the truth: I wanted to be the one to give her what she craved.

I convinced her that it would just be sex, mutual satisfaction with nothing deeper. But the moment I have her, she becomes my world. I’ve never given her a good reason to trust me before. Now, I’ve got to show Brenna that we’re so much better together than we ever were apart.

Things are going to get messy. But getting messy with Brenna is what I do best.

Oh… My…. Goodness Gracious!

Brenna and Rye’s story was FIRE!!!

Exposed by Kristen Callihan is the book I wanted but didn’t know I needed until I read the very last page. Holy crow’s feet, Brenna and Rye brought the fire and the sexy back! I loved the forbidden aspect throughout the novel.

Brenna is a workaholic, she puts her career of managing the band above everything else in her life. But lately she’s left feeling the need for something more than bantering with the bass guitarist of the band she helps manage. I loved the endless banter between Brenna and Rye. He gives it and she sends it right back at him. It was never a dull moment when these two entered the same room.

Rye has wanted Brenna since the moment he laid eyes on her. Too bad Brenna’s cousin and Rye’s best friend, Killian, laid down the ground rules where his cousin was concerned years ago… That was years ago… Everyone deserves to be happy, right?! And this is the main cause for why the endless banter was so freaking epic. These two have been tiptoeing around the lust factor for years now. You can only tiptoe with a flame around a can of gasoline for so long before the sparks eventually ignite. And holy hell, did these sparks ignite!

I loved the family dynamic surrounding the band, Kill John. There is no denying that Kristen Callihan knows how to write strong leads. But what I loved most was the friendship aspect between all the characters. I loved the bonds and the willingness to put their nose in situations that are not their business in order to force people into happiness. The meddling ways were awesome!! There were moments when I couldn’t stop laughing.

Now onto why I dropped a star in my rating.

I gave Exposed a four star rating due to one simple fact; I wanted to know more about Rye Peterson’s life, outside of Brenna. This man has a lot going on, and he’s been keeping a lot of secrets where his health is concerned. I wanted all the angst wrapped up in his situation. I wanted to feel that turmoil of maybe having to say goodbye to the one thing that makes him whole. I wanted the fear of the unknown. But I felt this situation wasn’t as in-depth as I would have liked it to have been. And that can be deemed as a reader preference, I wanted more.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. I loved the heat and sexy times just as much as I loved the sweetheart moments. Kristen Callihan did not disappoint! If you love sexy rock star romances with a forbidden vibe, don’t hesitate to pick up this book.

Peace Love and Happy Reading,

  1. I get why you dropped your star rating. I guess I didn’t think about that when I was reading. I was so into the whole Rye and Brenna thing that nothing else mattered as much. LOL Great review!
