Top ten Tuesday

10 Books I Loved that Made Me Want More Books Like Them

TTT (1).png

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week is a new bookish category in which we get to brag about our favorite books that fit with the week’s category. You can pick your top 5, 10, 15…or so on. I tend to keep my list to ten!

Today’s category:
Books I Loved that Made Me Want More Books Like Them

Have you ever found yourself diving down a bookish rabbit hole? This seems to happen to me every time I finish a book and I’m not ready to let it go. Whether it be the trope, the relationship, or the setting…. When I want more, I search for more.

These novels had me on the hunt for similar novels.

MMA/Fighter Romances

Beautiful Disaster – Jamie McGuire

Travis and Abby’s story was the first that came to mind when today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic came up.
This novel was my first venture into the never-ending rabbit hole of MMA/Underground Fighting/Boxing stories.
To this day this is still one of my favorite tropes, and I have Jamie McGuire to thank for that.

I loved that book so I decided to read (and loved) these book series:

Rockstar Romances

Thoughtless – S.C. Stephens

The Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens is another series I picked up because of Beautiful Disaster. Let’s just say, I was in the mood for a heavy dose of angst and an emotionally draining story. I remember Goodreads recommended this series to me and I thought, why the hell not. It was a risk I would happily take again. This trilogy put S.C. Stephens at the very top of my auto-buy author list. Kellan and Kiera’s story was everything I needed in my life at that time. And between you and me, this was my first glimpse into the wonderful world of Rockstar romances….. and you all know what that means…. it led me down another f**king rabbit hole….

I loved that book trilogy so I decided to read (and loved) these book series:

Motorcycle Club Romances

Own The Wind – Kristen Ashley

If I’m being completely honest, I blame my love for MC romances on SOA (Sons of Anarchy). This show was an addiction I filled every Tuesday at 10 pm… After watching a few seasons of the show, a novel by Kristen Ashley popped up on my goodreads… and thus, a whole new addiction started. Own The Wind was my first MC novel and my first Kristen Ashley novel. I loved the hell out of both the book and the author, I ended up going to my local book store and buying all four (at the time) books in the series and bingeing them all.

I loved that book series so I decided to read (and loved) these book series:

Secret Baby Romances

Forever My Girl – Heidi McLaughlin

Forever My Girl by: Heidi McLaughlin started my want and need to binge all the *Surprise! You’re A Daddy* type tropes. I love the angst and the unexpected devotion that tends to comes from these stories and given the fact that the hero in Forever My Girl is a rockstar (in the book) was just the icing on a delicious cake!

I loved that book so I decided to read (and loved) these books:

Age Gap Romances

Slammed – Colleen Hoover

Slammed was not only my first age gap romance, it also the first novel I read by Colleen Hoover. In being completely honest, yet again…. Age Gaps are either a hit or a miss with me. I either really love them or I extremely hate them, there is no in-between with me. The story has to be told right, and the romance has to be perfect or else I instantly feel that cringe worthy factor. To this day, slammed is still one of my favorite age gap romances.

I loved that book so I decided to read (and loved) these books:

Authors:

Every once in a blue moon I find an author that sweeps me off my feet with just one book and I feel the instant need to go through their back log and read every word they ever published. I’ve had this happen four times in my life… and the next (and last) sections of this Top Ten Tuesday are dedicated to those four authors.

TIJAN

After hearing all the hype that surrounded TIJAN’s Fallen Crest Series there was no doubt I needed to see what this book was all about. At the time, there were only a few books published in the series, and I remember the lack of patience I felt having to wait for the rest of the books as they released. There is no other series that can live up to the hype that is Mason, Sam, and Logan. These three are the dynamic trio! There is no couple like Mason and Sam! I loved all 7 books in the series!

Other TIJAN Books/Series I loved:

M. Robinson

The first book I read by author M. Robinson was Complicate Me. Alex and Lucas’s story started my need to read every word M. Robinson ever published. I loved the small town vibes, the coming of age feel and the growing pains that comes with every stage of a relationship. Everything about this novel touched my heart and soul. And that is why, to this day, it is still my favorite novel by this author.

Other M. Robinson Books/Series I loved:

A.L. Jackson

A.L. Jackson is the queen at writing swoony heroes with an edge. A Stone In The Sea was my first introduction to her writing style and I’ve been hooked ever since. Her Bleeding Stars series is one of my favorite rockstar romance series in the romance book world!

Other A.L. Jackson Books/Series I loved:

Molly McAdams

Molly McAdams is my go-to-author when I’m in the mood for some heavy angst, struggles, and an overall Ugly Cry read. The First book/series I read by her was the Taking Chances series. Countless times I have cried while reading her novels, and I find myself coming back for more!

Other Molly McAdams Books/Series I loved:

Melanie Harlow

Overtime, Melanie Harlow has slowly made her way up onto my favorite list of authors and there is one little secret as to what put her up that high on my list….. The fact that her Heroes are swoony and her Heroines are sweet and fiesty is just the icing on a cake. I simply love the fact that her novels are mostly based in  Michigan. I’m a Michigan girl and I love seeing the beauty of my home  state shining through her novels. I also love her take on romance and her epic happily ever afters. There has never been a single dull moment.

Other Melanie Harlow Books/Series I loved:
