Overtime by Kat Mizera is the fifth book in the Moo U series. It’s finally time for the playboy of Moo U to find the love of his life!! Between you and me, I was not expecting to love this novel as much as I did! Kat Mizera stole a piece of my heart somewhere in the middle of reading Overtime. The chemistry between Patrick and Ellie was FIRE!! I loved every exquisite moment!

Patrick is the playboy of the series. He’s never had problems getting the ladies right where he wants them. But lately, things haven’t been exciting as they once were and he chalks it up to wanting what his twin brother, Paxton, has. He wants someone to love him for him and not for his hockey status. And at a party is where he locked eyes with a woman who gave him everything he wanted. With one single glance he found himself intrigued for the first time in a long time. I loved watching Patrick change his partying ways and settle down.

Ellie isn’t your typical run of the mill college girl. I loved her vibes throughout this novel. She’s a legit genius and started college in her early teens. Now she’s nineteen years old and she’s looking back at her young years with sadness. She never had the chance to experience all the things a normal teenager would experience. She let her education, her drive to be the best, and her mother run her life. Now she wants to live her life as a young woman should be able to live it. She wants to make mistakes, fall in love, and harbor physical and emotional connections. She wants to experience life at it’s fullest and when she sets her sights on Patrick at a college party, she sees the man she’s going to experience everything within Patrick….. They just don’t know it yet. 

In the Moo U series, Ellie is one of my favorite characters! I loved her personality. She’s funny and playful but also serious when need be. She’s young and she’s on her way to being carefree. I loved how she stuck to her dreams and the life direction she wanted to go in. Seeing her stand up for herself, especially to her parents, was what kept me coming back for more… and let’s not forget the scorching sexy lessons Mr. Patrick Graham gives Ellie…. Holy hell, there were times I had to set my kindle down and walk away.. The igniting chemistry was something that couldn’t be missed, between and out of the sheets. I loved these two…

And then something happened, and what was once a five star rating dropped to a four star. And this is based solely on reader preference, but once again, we had a rockstar relationship with epic communication skills, I was in love over this romance, and then the story reached it’s climatic peak and in came the sudden lack of communication moment…. WHY!? These two had the potential to be on my top three list.. Lesson of the day, communication is the key to every healthy relationship. And the second reason for why I dropped a star in my rating is simple, my heart broke for Ellie and her situation. I wish that heartbreaking moment would have been discussed more between Ellie and Patrick. I wanted that emotional connection over a heartbreaking situation, but I felt the moment was here and gone in the blink of an eye.

Overall, I really did love this novel, aside from the few moments listed above. I loved the chemistry, the bond, and the relationship. I usually find myself feeling cringy when it comes to insta-love type novels, and I’m thrilled to report, the cringe did not enter my mind!!
