This is the second novel I have read, this year, written by JM Kelley, I think at this point it’s safe to say I’m a fan. The undeniable chemistry between her characters is off the charts! I couldn’t get enough of Formula!

Formula by JM Kelley is a racing novel set in K. Bromberg’s Driven world. A world set around the Driven series is one of the best things to come from 2020! I can’t get enough of these novels! I need more!!
Ever since Charlotte was a child she has dreamed of being a racer and winning big. What started off as a trip to the tracks with her sister and father, spiraled into something so much more. But dreams aren’t achieved without their hurdles and on the way to becoming number one, Charlie found love, lost love, and endured the hardships that come along with being a female in a predominately male sport. And now when she thought the dust finally settled, Charlie is facing another threat to her career in the form of a stalker who wants her dead.
Enter Jace, retired marine and bodyguard extraordinaire. What was once a night of passion with a one night stand, Charlie, turns out to be the body he has sworn to protect against the threat of an unknown. Jace is fighting his own demon’s in the back of his mind though with PTSD. Now he’s forced to separate his lust fueled needs when it comes to Charlie, in order to do what he’s sworn to do, keep all danger away from her.
Eventually, fate intervenes and the spell they are put under is too hard to fight. They’ll give in to temptation, if only for one single weekend. They’ll give in.
My Thoughts:
What’s not to love about this novel. From the suspense to the exploding chemistry, I found it hard to put this one down.
I loved Charlie’s rough and tough vibe throughout this novel, but beneath the surface she’s a fragile girl just like we all are. I found her character easy to relate to. Let’s be honest, It can’t be easy for a woman to make a name for herself in the racing world. I loved seeing her flourish and grow through this novel. And the fact that she had a chip on her shoulder placed their by her past, was interesting to see her evolve from.
I also really loved Jace and his mantra throughout this novel. He eventually became the man Charlie would need in her life. He wasn’t just a bodyguard or protector, he was a friend, a lover, and her fiercest fighter. I loved his alpha tendencies along with his sweet heart vibes, this man is the epitome of what I envision a book boyfriend being!
AHH! There is so much I want to talk about, but sadly, all of that involves spoilers! trust me when I have to say, you all are going to love what’s in store for Jace and Charlie!!!
Overall, J.M. Kelley wrote her heart out with this novel. I can honestly tell this author puts her all behind her stories and because of this I will continue to read her novels! I honestly can’t get enough.
