From bedroom performances to center stage, Memphis Black’s dreams have come true.
Together with his band mates—Finn, River, and Billy B—he takes some time for fun in the sun in Miami while gathering inspiration to finish their first full-length album. Some down time before hitting the road to tour the country, spreading their kind of rock like an STD.
Tallia Priest, a preacher’s daughter grew up next door to Madison Black, her polar opposite and very best friend. Tallia has harbored a crush on Madison’s older brother Memphis for a lifetime.
A boy like him would never notice a girl like her, yet he did … once.
After a tough freshman year of college, Madison invites Tallia to join her in Miami for a much needed break. Madison fails to mention they will be staying with ‘Steel Total Destruction.’
When Tallia arrives, there is no way for a stunned Memphis to miss the transformation of the once awkward, innocent girl next door.
Forbidden desires must be hidden, lines cannot be blurred, and no one can ever know.
Will the heat in Miami tempt them even further? Will buried secrets destroy lives? Can a broken heart ever be mended?
It’s all fun and games until someone gets rocked.

Memphis Black: Egotistical Rockstar and Manwhore Extroidinaire…..
Tallia Priest: Girl Next Door With A Dancer’s Dream…
Once neighbors, his little sisters best friend, is about to worm her way back into his heart. Will this manwhore become reformed or will she end up with a broken heart?
In My Own Words:
Memphis Black has everything in the palm of his hands. He has a soaring music career, groupies who calm his every need, and he’s on his way to becoming who he has always wanted to be, an official rockstar. After working their butts off for a year, Memphis Black’s band is given exactly what they need, a little rest and relaxation in Florida.
Tallia Priest was on cloud nine and exactly where she wanted to be. Until a tragedy struck her family and her father passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack leaving her and her mother with nothing. When Tallia’s best friend, Madison, offers a quick get-a-way on a silver platter, she simply can’t refuse.
Now Memphis and Tallia go through the motions of fighting back lust and ignoring the feelings between them that have always surfaced. She’s the girl next door and he’s a rockstar. The two usually don’t work out in the end…. Or do they?..
My Thoughts:
Memphis Black’s story has been on my bookshelf longer than the majority of my books and let’s be honest, this was a serious cover buy for me. A man holding an electric guitar with a slight emotional look on his face, I couldn’t NOT buy this book. Let’s face the facts, we do often judge books by their covers.
And once again, with all honesty, there were moments in Memphis and Tallia’s story that I absolutely adored, and there were moments and situations I really didn’t like. So let’s get started on all the ins and outs!
First let’s talk about the heat factor! There were times I thought I may have to grab my fire extinguisher! Memphis is a Dirty MF and in these moments, I loved him!! What I loved about this man, most of all, was his protective streak when it came down to his sister, his mom, and his girl.
I also really liked the girl next door vibe coming from Tallia. Having grown up with Madison as her best friend, she was always hanging around Memphis. He was the boy next door who tormented her, but he was also the same one that would step into protect her. He was her white knight in leather and tattoos. I only wish there were a few more flashback moments of when they were kids. I would have loved to see a younger Memphis stepping in and becoming a full on alphamale to defend Tallia’s honor.
So bottom line, i loved the rockstar portion and I loved Tallia and Memphis’s relationship.
What I didn’t really care for was the lack of maturity. I was hung up by all the *lingo*. For example it took me a few times reading to understand POW! meant ass…. Memphis’s character gave me whiplash. One moment he was this alphamale rockstar stepping in and secretly claiming what he wants, and then the very next his maturity is lacking. I needed a little more from his character.
I also didn’t like little bits and pieces seemed to be thrown in to add a small whirlwind of drama. For example, Tallia and Madison both share the same secret, this subject alone should have been more drawn out and explained further. Also when Tallia has her episode of sleepwalking, it would have been awesome to see this part of the story line continue to carry out instead of a one time thing.
In the end, I liked this one but sadly the novel in it’s entirety wasn’t a love for me.
Do I Recommend This Novel?
If you’re looking for a fast paced rockstar romance with a slight erotic approach, then this book may be for you. But if you’re looking for substance and something more than sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. I wanted more from Memphis and Tallia’s story. I needed more and found I was a bit disappointed by the end.
