Blurb:

As the son of the infamous boss of the DeAngelo family, I have merciless duties expected of me. The public labels me a monster, a man without a soul, and one hated by many.
They’re not wrong, and I’m not sorry for it.
When my father orders me to marry a longtime enemy’s daughter to settle a score between our families, she did what any smart woman with a beating heart would do.
She ran.
So, I found her.
She tries to negotiate for her freedom, but despite being inexplicably drawn to the deviant woman, I refuse her pitiful bribes with pleasure.
I still have a job to do, and I’ll make her tell me her family’s secrets, turning a treacherous situation into a game of hatred.
A code of silence will be broken.
Lines will be crossed.
I’ll promise her freedom to get the answers I need, but I’ll burn this city to the ground before I let her go.

Beautiful Criminal is the story of two well known mafia families.
The DeAngelo family, they are ruthless and vindictive. They hold their power close to their souls and anybody who dares threaten that power gets executed at any and all costs.
The Bravado family isn’t as widely known as the DeAngelo’s but don’t take their silence for weakness.

Kieran DeAngelo was raised to be the under boss to his father. He was raised as a young boy to look death in the eye and to fear no evil. Little did he know, he would also be raised to go against the very man who taught him his life’s lessons.

Leona Bravado was raised to follow the Omerta law. You speak to no one about anything regarding the mafia life and the family name. The day her father went missing, was the day that everything in her life changed. Her mother was fearful the same would happen to them so they locked down the mafia business. But somethings aren’t as easy to outrun as others, mainly the family name.

A chance run in occurs and Leona gets her first glance at the man she was raised to hate.

My Thoughts:

I have so much love for M.N. Forgy and the way she brings together a story. There is something about her writing style literally that has me wanting to devour all the words, instantly. When I saw she was coming out with a mafia series..I may have been a tad bit excited and I may have screamed. There also may have been a fist pump moment I’m not overly proud about… the world may never know… To say I was excited would be a huge understatement. I knew I needed this book in my hands and in my head.

Kieran DeAngelo is your typical rich/powerful playboy who has the world in his hands. He wants for nothing and will do everything he can to keep the power behind his family’s name. He’s ruthless and straight up TROUBLE. I had a love/hate relationship with Kieran in the first half of this novel. I loved the menacing approach to his character but mixed with the cocky/egotistical aspect, I didn’t vibe well with it. I wanted him to reek of danger and when you mix in the cocky vibes, he reeked of nothing but ego… Now the second half of the novel was when I really started to enjoy this character. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a man changing his ways for the woman he loves. When fate intervenes is when I feel the most connected to a character(s). I loved the way his attitude changed as soon as he met Leona and truly understood who this woman was.

Lesson of the day: don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Leona was viewed through the public eye as a stuck up egotistical socialite, but behind closed doors she’s just a girl who fears the worst and will do anything in her power to find her father. I loved how Leona slowly let down her guard and started to trust Kieran. I loved the way they slowly started to let love into their hearts.

This novel had bittersweet writing all over it. In the end I had a gut feeling something was brewing and whether or not it was going to be catastrophic was completely out of my hands.

This series is going to get crazy….. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
