He left me without a second glance. I
Maybe.
It’s time I get my happily ever after, even if part of me wishes he was still mine.
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

Southern Sunrise is the fourth book in Natasha Madison’s Southern Series. The novels in this series can all be read as standalone, but in my personal opinion, it is better to read these novels in the written order as they are all woven within the series.
When I first read the synopsis for Southern Sunrise, I knew I needed this book in my hands right away. I’m a huge fan of angsty novels. The angstier the novel, the better. This has always been my motto. Ethan’s story is just as beautiful as it is heartbreaking. If you are new to the series, I’m not going to spoil you with why Ethan’s story is heartbreaking. That’s a surprise you’ll have to find out for yourself.
I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance and this second chance made me swoon. I loved Ethan as a young boy, and now, I love him even more as a man. He’s strong willed and isn’t afraid to admit when he is in the wrong. He’s fiercely protective and has a heart of gold hidden behind a traumatic past. What more could a reader ask for!
As for Emily, I liked her character, but sadly that like didn’t quite jump the fence of love. I loved her with Ethan, but I felt a few situations should have led her to have more of a backbone, but that wasn’t the case. It left her character feeling weak and a bit fragile when she should have been fierce. On a separate note though, I loved her connection with Ethan! I loved the true love vibes throughout this novel. The happily ever after shined bright in this one.
I loved seeing the emotion through the family at Ethan’s return. I felt that emotion bone deep as Ethan came to terms with how much trauma he inflicted in those five years by leaving and staying gone. I wanted to reach in the novel and slap this boy upside his head.
Overall, this was a great addition to the Southern series. I can’t wait to see what Natasha Madison has up her sleeve next!!!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
