New Release + Book Review | Southern Storm by Natasha Madison

Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Savannah
I’m the one who broke up the golden couple. The woman people still whisper about, point at, and give dirty looks to.
Did I sleep with the prom king? No. Did I sleep with the town’s golden boy on vacation from college? Yes.
Did I believe that he was going to marry me? Wholeheartedly.
Did he? Not even close. He got engaged right in front of me and then his father threw two hundred dollars at me and told me to take the trash out.
So, I raised my son in a town where people love him because they think that his father is the sheriff.
It was going great, everything was working out till my lie got out.

Beau
I was getting ready to take over the mayoral office from my father, who was my hero.
Until I heard the secret he hoped would stay buried forever.
My brother has a son, not just any son but a son with the woman who was my best friend.
The woman I secretly have loved from the moment she stood up to me and broke my nose in kindergarten.
I need to protect her and in order to do that, we need to get married.

Too bad her nightmare is my dream come true.

Meet Natasha Madison

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals.

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips.

It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

The novel I have been waiting for is finally here!!!!

Beau and Savannah sparked my attention since the very first chapter of the very first novel in the Southern Series by Natasha Madison. And since that moment, I’ve been intrigued and dying to find out if these two end up together…. And now I finally know and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

About Southern Storm:

Southern Storm is the third book in the Southern Storm series by Natasha Madison. This story follows single mother, Savannah, and the boy she’s loved from the start, Beau.

Savannah’s life hasn’t always been a sky full of sunshine. She’s weathered her storms and has always found the rainbow at the end. But what happens when the final storm hits and there is no rainbow on the horizon. It comes down to whether she’s going to stay in a town that has shunned her completely, or run and find a new sense of happiness.

Beau’s heart was shattered the night he found out the truth behind who fathered Savannah’s baby. But what’s worse than being lied to is finding out his best friend’s knew the truth all along and decided to keep it from him. He wants answers and only the girl he’s loved for nearly his whole life has them. But when he finds Savannah and she lays her truth out on the table, Beau realizes sometimes it’s better to be left in the dark, because in the dark, you can’t see the monsters lurking around.

My Thoughts:

Holy Crow’s Feet!!

Going into Southern Storm I knew this novel was going to be a wild ride. I knew there was going to be angst and there was going to be heartbreak. What I wasn’t expecting was the cloud of suspense floating over Savannah and Beau’s story. I wasn’t expecting the Mystery and I wasn’t expecting the fear that was tightly woven between the pages of this book.

What a wild ride!

If I’m being honest, I really disliked Savannah in Southern Chance. I hated the fact that she came between Kallie and Jacob’s happily ever after. She was portrayed as the enemy throughout this whole novel

My heart broke time and time again with Savannah’s story. When her truth finally came out and we as reader’s were given that information that was lacking in the previous books, I felt my heart break because I found myself judging her harshly too. It really made me think about the fact that there are two sides to every story and I’ll definitely think twice about judging a situation before finding out the whole story. She showed true strength in her story, it was great seeing her come out on top of everything. Every step in life has a lesson to learn. She had her fair share of lessons throughout this novel.

Now onto Beau! Beau was the character that had my heart pounding in my chest. I loved this man’s alpha side, especially when it came to protecting what was his! He’s a man that should not be messed with…. Just ask his family. I loved how he had Savannah’s back throughout this novel. She was the one he was worried about and she was the one that he set out to protect at all costs. He’s the true definition of Hero.

Now onto why I rated this novel a four star instead of giving it a full five star rating. There were many.. Many moments I loved. But then there were moments I wanted more of. The main reasoning behind my rating had to do with Savannah’s single motherhood. I would have loved to see more moments with Savannah and Ethan. It seemed these moments were few and far between. I wanted to feel that motherhood shining bright, but it seemed like he was always with Jacob and Kallie. I wanted more Savannah and Ethan time.

But overall I really enjoyed this novel. I loved the romance between Beau and Savannah. I loved the mystery and the suspense. I loved the danger and the fear. Southern Storm is an intriguing read. My attention was captured right from the start!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!!!!!! This next book is the story I didn’t even know I wanted until that final moment!
