Synopsis:

single dadlittle sister’s best friendage gapsmall town romance from NY Times Bestselling author, Lorelei James.

A no-strings-attached arrangement should’ve been easy. But he can’t seem to stay away from her.

AJ Foster has loved Cord McKay her entire life. From the moment he’d rescued her after falling off her horse, she’d imagined the tall dark and handsome man as her very own prince charming. But even now that she’s an adult, past pigtails and ponies, her sexy, grumpy neighbor ignores her.

Divorced rancher Cord McKay is committed to two things: his young son and the family ranch. He has no time for women–especially not his little sister’s best friend, who has grown into the definition of female temptation. Besides, the thirteen-year age difference between them means he’s too old for her…right?

But one reckless night, AJ suggests a secret summer fling and Cord can’t resist as long as she abides by one rule: he’s in charge. Nothing could’ve prepared innocent AJ for the dirty-talking, growly cowboy who’s hidden sweetness is as addictive as his expert touch.

As summer ends, stubborn Cord believes he can withstand AJ’s efforts to break through his defenses, but AJ is determined to win the single dad’s heart, no matter what it takes.

This age gap romance is one of my favorites from the Rough Riders series by Lorelei James!!!! I wasn’t expecting to love this novel as much as I did, Lorelei blew me away with this one!

About Cowgirl Up And Ride:

Cowgirl Up and Ride is the third book in the Rough Riders series by Lorelei James. This novel can be read as a standalone, but in my honest opinion it would be better read within the series.

Amy Jo AJ Foster is all grown up and looking for love in all the wrong places. Mainly she’s looking to capture the heart of the one and only Cord McKay, the broodiest of all McKay boys!

Since she was five years old, Amy Jo knew her heart belonged to Cord McKay. The only issue being e was years upon years older than her. But little did the McKay’s and her small town know, Amy Jo was beyond her years older. While her high school friends were out flirting with boys and raising hell, Amy Jo was busting her but and running her family’s farm. She spent years trying to fix something that was broken. After putting the family farm on the back burner, Amy Jo decides to pack up and head to college to achieve something that’s strictly for her. Something that no one can take away.

Now she’s back in her hometown watching over her mother who has falling ill. But while being back in town she’s hit with a mission. It’s now time to show Colby what he’s been mission out on all these years. She’s no longer the little girl he sees her as. She’s no longer the woman who used to babysit her son. She’s about to show him she is so much more and she’s about to knock him flat on his ass.

My Thoughts:

Holy Hellfire! Colby McKay is one sexy beast of a man!!! I want and need more Colby in my life!! Pardon me while I wipe the drool from my mouth… this novel was pure lust. With every chapter turned, my heart fell harder for Colby and AJ! I couldn’t get enough of these two.

I loved the fact that this was an age gap romance. I’m not a very big fan of age gap romances and unless they are done right I find myself DNFing them right away. But this book, holy hell, I read this bad boy in one sitting!

Lorelei James knows how to balance the perfect mixture of lust, sex, and swoon! If I had to tally a score and pick my favorite novel out of the series, I would say it would be Cowboy Up and Ride! I’m a fiend for this series! I can’t get enough, but there was something about this book that really sunk it’s claws into me.

The only reason why I rated it a four instead of a full five star rating is simple. I wanted more time with Colby and his son. I wanted to feel that bond between father and son and I didn’t feel that bond as much as I would have liked too. Besides this one small issue, I found this book to be epic! I can’t wait to read more from the Rough Riders series in the near future! Bring on the sexy ass cowboys!!!
