Can you pinpoint a time in your life where you realized you are completely and utterly screwed?
I can. I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes.
I was traded. Yeah, that phone call.
Traded from my long time team of over ten years. And not just to any team, but my childhood rivals; the Chicago Rebels.
Completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns.
I met a girl. Natalie. Man, she’s perfect.
I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. Too complicated. But can you believe I have zero restraint when it comes to this girl? I couldn’t get her out of my head and the more I talked to her, the more I realized I needed her in my life.
So what’s the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can’t stop crushing on, yeah . . . she’s married.
At least, that’s what I was told . . .

Ah! I love Meghan Quinn’s sports romances, but I think this one just took the cake and ate it whole! Cory Potter is boss!!!
About The Trade:
The Trade is a complete standalone by Meghan Quinn. This novel is focused around a newly traded baseball playing hotshot finding love for the first time!
Cory Potter lived his life and his career with the ‘Bobbies For Life’ moto. When this Chicago Bobcat’s player gets traded in the middle of the season to the rival team, the Chicago Rebels…. Not a whole lot of good can come from this situation, especially when the Rebel’s fans are against this decision and they aren’t backing down anytime soon.
Natalie is fresh on the heels of a breakup. She’s been playing the dating game off an on, but nothing seemed to catch her interest. Until Cory Potter walks into her line of sights.
My Thoughts:
Throughout this baseball journey that Meghan Quinn has sent us all on, I’ve had one name on my mind and one story I wanted to sink my teeth in. That being Cory Potter and his story. I wanted this man to find love and I wanted a chance to hop in that car and hitch a ride for this journey. I thought this time would never come and now that it’s here, it’s bittersweet. Meghan Quinn DID NOT disappoint with this one.
I loved the whole vibe throughout this novel. I loved the fact that Cory is a man with a heart of gold and I also loved watching him experience the highs and lows that come along with falling in love for the first time. My heart could barely contain itself through this moments.
I also really enjoyed Natalie’s character. I loved the fact that her brother was also traded along with Cory which added a tad bit of forbidden vibes throughout this novel.
Overall, this was a great romance filled with swoony scenes and heart-clenching moments. I couldn’t put this one down from start to finish. If you love baseball romances, I highly recommend this one!
