Oh my lord! This series is going to be EPIC!!!
About Southern Chance:
Southern Chance is the first book in the Southern Series by Natasha Madison. This Angsty romance revolves around Kallie and Jacob.
Eight years ago Kallie and Jacob were looking at their forever future. Jacob had the ring and the promise all he needed to do was get his girl to the location after prom. But they didn’t make it that far before an interference completely unhinges this happy couples lives. In the middle of the night, with help from her family, Kallie sneaks away and leaves town without telling Jacob.
Now a threat is hanging over her friend’s head and Kallie will do everything in her power to see this threat goes away, even if it means going to the one place she swore she’d never go back to. She’s going home.
My Thoughts:
Let’s start with my thoughts on the very first chapter, you see I’m the type of person that can easily predict novels. Sometimes I find it to be an annoyance when I’m reading but throughout that first damn chapter, I had no clue what the hell was going on which lead to so many tears and emotions running through me. Natasha Madison tore a piece of my heart out in that very first chapter. I’m still shocked by this fact!
In the first fifty percent of this love story, I had no idea whether I should love or hate Jacob! I was at war with what my heart wanted and what my brain was telling me to want. The protective instinct that Jacob still had towards Kallie made me swoon. But the anger he felt towards her and her sneaky departure eight years ago really pissed me off. In one way I understood his anger, she just slipped away in the middle of the night without giving him a chance to explain his side of the story. Then common sense decides to override my heart and I think, *you know, if he really wanted her to know his side of the story he would have fought harder to get to her*. Hmmm it’s quite a conundrum playing out in my brain.
Natasha Madison knows her way around writing a compelling love story. I loved the fact that there are real life issues withing the pages of this novel. People leave everyday and when they return their filled with a mountain of questions they have to answer. But Kallie’s reasoning for leaving led to the town deciding to pick sides, as all small towns seem to do. When I read and understood the truth behind Jacob’s story, I started to feel sorry for this man. And in that moment I really needed him to find a happily ever after.
I’m a sucker for novels set in the country. I’m a country girl through and through, and this novel brought a sense of nostalgia that I needed at that time in my life. So many memories of all the firsts came rushing back to me as I read more of Jacob and Kallie’s story. You know a novel is good when it digs up your own memories you haven’t thought of in years. Honestly, this may be my favorite novel Natasha Madison has published! I’ll have to think more on that one though….
Overall, if you’re looking for a second chance romance with angst a mile wide and an ocean deep, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Southern Chance today. If you love country romances with that infamous sweet and sexy southern charm, don’t hesitate picking up this novel. You won’t be sorry! Natasha Madison is putting her whole heart into this series, and it shows!!!!
