Let’s Get Started!

I’m currently reading two books. The first is Burnout by Coralee June. I’m at twelve percent and I can already tell this is going to be a consuming read. I love the vibe and the characters so far. I’m intrigued.

By: Coralee June
Genre: Dark/New Adult/Romance

Maybe if we met at another time—another life—he could’ve been mine.
Maybe if I were older. Maybe if he wasn’t my brother’s best friend. Maybe if he wasn’t my teacher.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Having my dirty little secret living down the hall had me obsessing over alternate endings and happily ever afters. I’d never wanted someone so badly, but his hot and cold behavior was giving me emotional whiplash. In the classroom, he practically ignored me. But here? In my brother’s loft? It felt like we were a thick rubber band, pulled so tight we’d snap.
Falling for Decker Harris made me realize that life wasn’t as serendipitous as everyone liked to think. We weren’t just a collection of maybes thrust into the world with hope and good intentions. Everything started with a choice, and somewhere between grief and redemption, I chose to make him mine.
I’m also currently reading an advanced copy of The Lineup by Meghan Quinn! I’m only a few chapters but I’m also liking this one! I love Meghan Quinn’s humor and her writing style so it comes as no surprise I’m enjoying this one.
Genre: Sports Romance
Publisher: Indie
Release Date: December 5th, 2019

Want to know a secret?
It’s about that girl over there.
Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .
Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

I just finished Vandal (Ashes and Embers, #2) by Carian Cole. This book came as a surprise by how dark and deep it was. I loved every bit of Vandal’s story…. even though it relentlessly shattered my heart time and time again. It’s all about the emotion and the angst with this one.
Series: Ashes and Embers, #2
Genre: Dark Romance
Publisher: Indie
Publication Date: February 23rd, 2015

She takes my breath away.
She’s so beautifully damaged.
A mirror of my own tortured soul.
I was powerless to stay away from her.
I was responsible for all the pain and grief that brought her to her knees in front of me.
Broken. Hopeless. Reckless in her agony.
But what I took away I can give back…in ways she cannot even begin to imagine.
Ways that I can’t stop thinking about.
Together we spun a tangled web of lust and need. Power and submission. And dare I say… trust and love.
We’re everything right in all our wrongs.
We found redemption. We found happiness. A chance for a new beginning.
but… she has no idea I’m the one who destroyed her life.
