RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND OLDER DUE TO STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS AND VIOLENCE.
This is Book 2 of 3 in the Nine Minutes Trilogy.
Out of Time is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both books that can best be connected if read consecutively.
Although I do answer the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. Other readers may be satisfied with the answers and the ending. Regardless of which category you fall into, I hope you enjoy the story.
They thought with his execution it would all be over.
They were wrong.
The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top.
In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal.
Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife.
Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together.
And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on.
Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

Out Of Time is the second book in the Nine Minutes Trilogy. If you read Nine Minutes and have some serious questions floating around in your mind about the storyline and the turmoil. You should definitely pick up Out Of Time. This book is a mind trip. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
A freaking MIND TRIP!
If you haven’t yet read Nine Minutes, I highly recommend you do so before continuing on with this review. Because this book has been published for a few…or more…. years, I’m going to go ahead and continue with my review. Be warned there may be a few spoilers.
Out of Time Takes place after Grizz’s execution date. And in a moment of anger, he left the world and in doing so left a piece of information behind that destroyed ginny and turned her world upside down. Now Ginny doesn’t know what was truth and what were lies.
Throughout this whole novel, I had a few main questions.
1. What is Grizz hiding?
Grizz came off as the holder of many secrets throughout the first book. That feeling only grew stronger and I started reading Out of Time. This man was such a mystery to me. A mystery that I was bound and determined to uncover. But holy crows feet, I didn’t expect his secrets to run that deep and to be that dangerous. Everytime I think I’ve caught on to who this man is…. Then another layer gets added on to him. He has his hands dipped in some deadly kettles that’s for damn sure.
2. Where does Ginny come to play in all of this?
In Out of Time we are given a more indepth view of the moment in time that initially led to Grizz’s need to protect Ginny. I loved getting a more insightful approach where Ginny and Grizz’s relationship is concerned. It still makes me feel like a total spaz that I am still cheering this couple on. Hey, it’s romance and as long as it stays in the book, I’m basically okay with it.
3. Are Grunt and Ginny going to be okay?
Even though I love Ginny and Grizz together, I have to say, I really started to love the idea of Ginny and Grunt getting a happily ever after. This novel also gives us a more indepth view of how Grunt first met Ginny also. I started to really like the idea of Grunt and Ginny getting a happily ever after. These two humans who have been put through the emotional wringer and were pawns on a game of chess from the start deserve their moment of peace and quiet. There moment of happiness. But do you really think Grizz would let the woman his heart beats for get away that easily… FUCK NO!
And now here is where all the twists and turns come in to play. Let’s just say, Grizz is a motherfucking mastermind when it comes to playing a game of chess. He’s a strategy player and because he thinks of every move on the board before he plays…. Everyone ends up losing something. EVERYONE!!!
I can’t even! These twists showed up out of thin air. Be prepared for a serious amount of emotional whiplash.
Now onto why I rated it four stars instead of a full five:
I dropped a star for one simple reason, Ginny was seriously lacking maturity in this novel. I understand her whole world was flipped upside down and so on and so forth, but when you have two children at home depending on you and their father, there is no room for a time out. You stay and try to salvage all the shit you’ve been dealt with. You don’t run away from your issues and your family while you’re at it. I felt she had every right to be pissed at Grunt, but you don’t take that out on the kids and in leaving that is exactly what she did. Also at times I felt the kids didn’t really play a role in this novel, I would have liked to see a closeness between the family at the beginning of this novel. I needed more of an emotional connection between the characters.
Overall, I really enjoyed this suspenseful read. Grizz, Ginny, and Grunts story was unpredictable and often at times left me speechless. I can’t wait to dive into A Gift Of Time, but to be completely honest, I’m so freaking nervous!!!

You know I’ve been waiting for this review…
I had the same feeling… As long as the relationship stays in the book, it’s okay. LOL
I agree about Ginny’s maturity, but I also think her maturity stopped at the point she was abducted. Or it seems that way?
You’re going to love the next book. So many things come together. Definitely more of the kids… And Mimi has her own book, so that will answer a ton of questions.
Great review!
