I have nowhere left to fall…

I’ll never be King. But being sixth in line is both a blessing and a curse.

My birth order affords me the privilege of loving whomever I choose, even if she’s a free-spirited rock star. She loves me back and that’s all the power I’ll ever need.

Yet, the future of the kingdom lies in the hands of my asshole cousin, who will absolutely lead our country into a civil war if he takes the throne.

I wish I could ignore the fact that the first-born son of the King is the last person who should rule.

If I could, I would focus on making Casey Hart mine and building a life with the girl I’ve loved most of my life.
But fate has other plans… and the Kingdom isn’t the only thing at risk of falling.

Nowhere Left To Fall is the first book in the Nowhere Trilogy by Kat Mizera. This is a novel based on a childhood crush that flourishes into something more.

Rockstar Romances are my absolute favorite trope. When I first read the blurb for Nowhere Left To Fall, I was intrigued. The premise was interesting and I knew I needed to read this one as soon as possible. Another plus is that Kat Mizera is a new to me author!

Casey’s a rock goddess who’s been forced to take a break after her bandmates decided to bail on her. She’s in limbo on what to do with her life. Should she continue her path down the music highway, and start a solo career, or should she go to school and get a degree? I really enjoyed Casey’s character in the first half of the novel. She was independent and sassy, but you could see beneath the surface that she was a scared girl afraid of making the wrong choice, where her future is concerned.

When Erik enters her life all she can think about is the crush she felt for him all those years ago. But he’s a stuffy royal and she’s a go with the flo rockstar. The two are oil and water, they don’t mix well. Until Erik’s mother talks him into going out and living life the way a normal twenty four year old would live it. With No Regrets. I liked Erik as a person, he was responsible and truly cared about those around him, but this man also had a short fuse and most of the time it was reflected towards his reckless cousin.

I have to say with all honesty, I liked this novel… but I didn’t love it. I felt at times the storyline was going at warp speed. Situations occurred way too fast for my liking which caused the chemistry between Casey and Erik to feel a bit forced. I needed a bit of a slowdown and a little more time for Casey and Erik to get to know each other as adults on a deeper more emotional level. I needed more heart eyes and less lust. That’s just my opinion.

Overall, I liked Nowhere Left To Fall’s storyline but the relationship and romance needed some development. I’m intrigued to see where it goes next. Hopefully these two can redeem themselves in the next book.
