Blurb:

I asked for his criteria for bed buddies-that’s the PG version.
He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies.
And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start.

Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder.
Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation.
He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.

Correction: where I work again, because I was fired from my last job.
And dumped.
And I might have a tiny bit of baggage, but that’s normal. Right?

Reese and I shouldn’t have become friends.
We shouldn’t have become roommates.
And we really shouldn’t have started sleeping together … (Except we did.)

I’m adorably psychotic. He’s in the NBA.
This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.

“Loved ones aren’t supposed to go away,
whether it’s their choice or not.

That’s not how live is supposed to be.”

Teardrop Shot is told from Charlie’s point of view with the exception of one Reese chapter.

Charlie has the weight of the world on her shoulders and extreme guilt weighing heavy on her mind and in her heart. In order to survive one must do what needs to be done, no matter how selfish it looks on the outside. Self preservation is the key to hiding the shell of a person you’ve become. So when Charlie gets a call and an opportunity to work a few months at the camp she worked at years ago, when it all started, she’s jumps at the job that couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Having been fired and finding out your boyfriend is cheating all in the same day really puts a damper on life’s goals. Now Charlie is back where it all started. Where she found love for the first time and where she met the very best group of friends a girl could ask for. Charlie is now forced to face her past head on. But what happens when your past and your unexpected future collide.

Reese Forster is the hottest thing in the media and the NBA right now. He’s playing the best he’s ever played before and the media is loving it. But when you’re in the limelight, so is all the drama that surrounds you, and having a drug addict alcoholic as a brother can messy up someone’s reputation, especially a brother who’s now serving time in prison for impersonating his brother and sexual abuse. That’s the very thing that led the Seattle Thunder pro basketball team to Camp Echo. An exclusive, under the radar, basketball camp.

Two fractured hearts mesh making one intensely heartbreaking and overwhelmingly true love story.

“When you fall in love with someone,
you’re not
supposed to lose them right away.”

My Thoughts:

I honestly don’t think my heart could possibly take much more. Tijan has put it through the wringer with Charlie and Reese’s story. It’s a definite possibility that Teardrop Shot will stay with me throughout. This is a book that every romance reader and romance lover should read!

When I first started Teardrop Shot, I honestly had no idea what I was in for and no clue what was going on. To be completely honest, I didn’t know if I would like Charlie from those beginning moments. Her character threw me for a loop, I couldn’t wrap my head around her and if she was just naturally quirky or if this was all an act. She came off as a tad bit crazy, but I later discovered the truth, and the truth caused me to push my initial thoughts aside and embrace her crazy!

This novel paints a vivid picture of fate at its greatest moment. Two broken souls meet and together they help each other mend both of their broken halves. I love the truth that shines bright through those moments. The moments of pure vulnerability coming from both Reese and Charlie had me clutching my kindle in one hand and a crumpled up tissue in the other.

So many tears were shed during the second half of teardrop shot. It’s crazy how one moment is full of laughter and then the very next, I’m bawling like a newborn baby. Tijan outdid herself with this novel and these characters. And this is the very reason why Tijan is on my top three author list. She put her whole heart and soul into this novel and I felt it all. I felt the heartbreak, the emotional turmoil, the panic that comes with the unknowns of starting a new relationship, the happiness, the joy, the closure on old chapters that haven’t yet been closed, the angst, and the purity of it all.

My heart is so full and so happy with the ending Tijan gave us! There were a few moments where I clutched the arm of my chair and hurt for the characters, and there were times I laughed out loud at Charlie’s crazy randomness. This love story gave me everything I’ve been ultimately craving in a romance novel.

“When it’s something inside a person that takes them away,
little by little, each day a tiny bit more,
it paralyzes you.”

Overall, if I could rate this higher than 5 stars, I would. Teardrop Shot deserves every star in the universe! Seriously, read this book!
