Blurb:
I had a life, love, and future to give.
Until my enemy took a wife.
The devil has a name, and it’s Cristiano de la Rosa. On my wedding day, he was the last man I expected to see standing at the altar. He wants to make me his queen. His brother wants to rescue his princess.
Getting Cristiano to lose control becomes the name of the game, and the stakes are life and death. But as truth and lies blur, loyalty is tested, and our chemistry threatens to reach the melting point, the prize grows less clear. Either freedom no longer means what I think it does, or Cristiano is as devious as everyone says, and he’s mastered the art of playing my mind.
All I know for certain is that nothing is certain. And all you need to know?
This is a love story.
But even love stories have to end.

Violent Ends is the second book in the White Monarch series by Jessica Hawkins. This novel is told from Cristiano and Natalia’s point of view. If you haven’t read Violent Delights (White Monarch #1) I highly recommend you dive into that one before starting this one. Violent Ends picks up right where Violent Delights ends. As always, because this is a continuation novel, I’m not going to dive into the storyline for fear of giving away spoilers. Instead i’m going to skip right ahead to my thoughts on this novel.
My brain is literally swimming with all the possibilities of what’s to come for Natalia and Cristiano given that ending! I’m still on the edge of my seat with my jaw hitting the freaking floor! It never fails, Jessica Hawkins always delivers an epic ending that has her reader’s questioning what the hell is next. I am absolutely loving this storyline. I’m loving everything from the slow burn, to the danger, and the epic ending.
Cristiano stole the show in this novel!! I loved his protectiveness and his alpha bad ass vibes, but most of all I loved how, in his own special overprotective way, he was with Natalia. This woman clearly wants nothing to do with this marriage, and he’s putting up with all of her defiance and spoiled girl bullshit to put her first and see that she is safe. He’s legit my favorite person in this novel.
As for Natalia, in a few scenes, her character felt off to me. Instead of being sassy and fierce, she came across as spoiled. I wanted more from her character in the beginning. Throughout the novel, though, her character started to evolve into the persona I initially wanted all alone. I do have to say, I loved watching her slowly start to lower her shields where Cristiano is concerned.
Overall, this was a great addition to the White Monarch series! Now, I need answers and I need to know what happens next for these two relentless individuals. Jessica Hawkins has an intriguing way of writing. She definitely captured my attention with Natalia and Cristiano’s story! I can’t wait to read more!
