“Sometimes,
you gotta almost die
To remember that
You’re alive.”
WHAT A RIDE!!! I love the element of surprise that T.M. Frazier always packs in her novels. I was completely spellbound reading Kevin and Lenny’s story. I couldn’t put this book down once I picked it up!
About The Novel:
Nine: The Tale Of Kevin Clearwater is the ninth book in the King series by T.M. Frazier. This novel is told from both Kevin and Lenny’s point of view. Nine can also be read as a standalone but is better read within the series.
Kevin Clearwater hasn’t had the best of life, in fact some may view his life as traumatic and utterly disturbing. But Kevin views his life as a means of survival. He’s been through hell and back and I’m sure he has the vouchers to prove it. A few mistakes, triumphs, and a bottle of booze later, Kevin finds himself on the Causeway Bridge… and he’s not alone.
Lenore Leary grew up on the right side of the town where the houses are big and the bank accounts are enormous. But not everything is rainbows and sunshine for Lenore, and the grass is certainly not greener on her side of the fence. Which leads to why she’s on the causeway bridge contemplating her life and whether or not jumping would be beneficial.
Tables turn when Lenny realizes she’s not as alone as she thought she was. Now instead of contemplating her own demise, she’s stuck on the connection she feels with this mystery man and there fondness of Edgar Allen Poe. But shit happens when Kevin talks Lenny into stepping back over on the safe side of the bridge and tables turn causing Lenny and Kevin to relinquish the ounce of happily ever after that was within fingertips reach.
Now Kevin lives part of his life for the girl with the Raven necklace that he can’t seem to get out of his head and the other part of his life seeking vengeance from the person who stole millions of dollars from him.
Kevin’s about to learn everything he once thought was wrong and his past is about to come head to head with his present.
“Lenny and I are both hurricanes,
on a course for collision,
and who the f*ck knows
what’s going to happen
when or if the skies clear.”
My Thoughts:
When I first started reading Nine, I had no idea what I was in for. I’m a tad behind in the King Series but have no fear, this novel reads as a standalone and because I have a general knowledge of the secondary characters, even though I’m behind with the series, I found this book easy to read with no confusion.
T.M. Frazier brings the dark side to romance. I love the element of surprise that she always packs in her novels. I did as I always do and I went into Nine: The Tale Of Kevin Clearwater completely blind and I’m blown the fuck away! I swear to god I was completely spellbound reading Kevin and Lenny’s story. I couldn’t put this book down once I picked it up!
Kevin Clearwater is my newest book boyfriend!!! This man is a beast! He’s the perfect example of strength and not letting his past dictate his future. He’s everything I’ve come to love when it comes to dark heroes.
I loved almost everything about this novel but most of all, I loved the bond between Lenny and Kevin. From the start to the very end of Nine, I had hope for these two. Out of all the turmoil they’ve seen in their life, They finally came out on top. These two are strong on their own, but together, these two are unstoppable.
Overall, Nine was everything I imagined it would be. T.M. Frazier knows her shit when it comes down to capturing her reader’s attention and hooking them in from the start. And this is exactly why I come back for more. If you love your romances a little on the dark side I highly recommend Nine and the whole King Series.

I found this to be the “lightest” King novel. I liked that, though. There was still the heavy darkness, but more light. Great review!
Thank You! I agree, it was more on the light side of the dark romance scale. There was more angst and sorrow in Kevin’s story given all he’s been through. I could have done with a little less detail in a few scenes.
