M. ROBINSON FREAKIN’ SLAYED THIS DUET!!!
Choosing You is the final book in The Pierced Hearts Duet. This novel is told in Aiden and Camila’s point of view. In this review I won’t be diving too deep into the storyline because this is a final book in the duet. Everything I can say and want to say involves spoilers in one way or another. It’s best to capture Aiden and Camila’s finale with your own imagination and not what others are telling you. It’s best to go into this one completely blind.
For those that are unaware of who M. Robinson is, she is a kickass author who writes extremely angsty novels! I first found M. Robinson when goodreads recommended Complicate Me (the first book in the good ol’ boys series) From the moment I started that story to the exact moment I finished it, I became hooked with not only this author’s words, but also her mind and her imagination. And since finishing Complicate Me, I’ve read fourteen of her books and adored them all! Out of those fourteen books, I’ve cried during eleven of them…. And I don’t mean one tear… I fucking sobbed! I’m a complete baby when it comes to the emotions M brings out of me! But i’m okay with that. Tears only make you stronger in the end….. right?!
WIth that being said, I honestly thought I had M with this one. I was closing in on the final quarter of the book, I felt the challenge of FINALLY finishing a book without shedding a single tear within fingertip reach, the victory was so close I could almost touch it…. and then…. It…. happened.
M obliterated my soul……
To say I cried would be an understatement. I think I need a strong shot of whiskey! That ending completely came out of left field. I didn’t see it coming. She fucking pulled the wool over my eyes.
Camila Jimenez stole my heart and Aiden Pierce captured my soul.
What I loved most about this duet was witnessing Aiden’s kids, Jackson, Jagger, and Journey form a bond with Camila. I loved the struggle they showed and the relationship they all eventually formed. It not only felt real but it also felt raw, especially with Jackson. I honestly couldn’t get enough of these moments. Another thing I loved was witnessing this family that was once unbreakable slowly coming back together and forming that unbreakable bond they used to have before tragedy struck their household. It made everything feel so freaking real and so fragile.
Overall, M. Robinson pulled all my heartstrings with this one! I can’t get over how much I felt while reading Choosing You! I felt heartache, happiness, pure agony along with pure joy. But in those ending moments, I felt complete. She couldn’t have ended this duet any better if she tried.
Now, what I’m most looking forward to is diving into JACKSON’S story. Holy hell, this boy is not only T-R-O-U-B-L-E but it looks like he’s about to be in a world full of hurt! Especially when Noah and Creed catch up with him! I can’t wait!!!!
