Synopsis:
Revenge is a seven-letter word that isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a word for those who have been wronged.
Jo Turner has been waiting five, long years to finally turn revenge into vengeance. Using Rider, the pretty-faced manwhore, is simply the price she is willing to pay to satiate her desire for revenge. Little does she know, she makes herself a target from the one thing Rider has sworn to give his life to protect—The Last Riders.
When you wake the soldier, be prepared for the consequences.
Rider is going to teach her a hard lesson: revenge is a double-edged sword … and it always cuts both ways.
Rider’s Revenge is the tenth book in The Last Riders series by Jamie Begley this novel is told in Rider and Jo’s point of views.
Rider is the playboy of The Last Riders MC. After a past that he’d like to leave in the dust, I can’t blame the man for not wanting to settle. Rider is also a master manipulator, making it easy for him to blend in with any crowd. Everyone sees him in a different light, which is why his mc brothers have a plan to set him up and force him to fall in love.
Jo Turner is Treepoint’s very own tow truck driver. After a traumatic situation that occured when she was fifteen, Jo has found it best to form no connections and keep to herself. But when her past comes back to haunt her, Jo forms an alliance with a future enemy causing her to do something she never thought she would do. Get help from The Last Riders.
In My Own Words:
I didn’t know what I expected when I first started Rider’s Revenge. I actually really enjoyed Rider and Jo’s story. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting which made it that much more intriguing.
Rider is competitive by nature, so when Jo turns him down time and time again she’s just pouring the gasoline on the embers that are already burning between them. I loved the never ending back and forth banter. These two were so much fun.
But where there is fun, there is also immense heartbreak.
Rider has only loved twice in his life, and both times that love was thrown back in his face. I found myself wanting to reach in the book and hug Rider. I know understand why this man is the man of many personalities. He blends in not only because it was his job in the service, but he also blends in because it’s a form to protect his heart from further breaking.
Jo was in the same boat. She crushed on a guy so hard in highschool and was so excited that he actually acknowledged her. so excited that she threw all common sense out of the window causing all hell to break loose.
Both Jo and Rider find it hard to trust which makes this story that much more intriguing. They both want what is staring them in the face, a chance at true love. But they both have that same fear that is forcing them apart. Which in the end makes for some beautiful moments when the inevitable heart to heart moment happens.
I loved the fact that Jo didn’t let Rider walk all over her. She saw clear through his manipulations. I also loved the fact that she was timid on the outside but if you threaten those she cares about, she’ll let you know to step back or be prepared to eat mud. I loved watching her step into that character.
Overall, Rider’s Revenge was another great read by Jamie Begley! I may have had my doubts in the beginning when I first heard Jo and Rider were being matched up in this one, but those doubts quickly faded as I read more and more. These two fit perfectly!
