Violent Delights is the first book in Jessica Hawkins’ brand new White Monarch series. This novel is told, mainly, in Natalia’s point of view. there are also a few chapters in Cristiano and Diego’s point of view.

Natalia grew up in a powerful family with danger lurking around every corner. At a young age she lost her mother to a hostile takeover. And it was then that she realized she didn’t want to be a part of the cartel life. So her father sent her to California.

Throughout the years there has been one constant in her life. Diego. The man she’s pledged her love, her heart, and her soul to. There’s only one problem, Diego is linked to the man who invades Natalia’s nightmares and soon will invade her every thought and desire. His brother. Cristiano.

My Thoughts:

SOOOO, I just finished reading Violent Delights by Jessica Hawkins and I’m absolutely crushed by the events that just took place. I did not see that coming…. What….. So…. Ever! So hat’s off to Jessica Hawkins for pulling the rug out from under my feet and causing me to have a serious case of emotional whiplash. I can’t even begin to describe how much I was consumed by these characters and the fucked up mess they’ve found themselves in.

I have to say, I loved Natalia and her willingness to stand by her man through all the trials life threw in her path. She showed true strength in those last chapters. A kind of strength I find admirable. I also loved her feisty spirit!

I can’t get over how much I loved the slow burn! holy hell, if you all love intense slow burn storylines, this is the one for you. It was all-consuming, heart pumping, and completely igniting. I couldn’t put this book down even if it were the cure to save my life. Crazy how a novel can be that addicting. That’s the way a novel written by Jessica Hawkins typically goes for me. An obsession.

Overall, If you love cartel/mafia romances you are going to love the hell out of this one. It has everything I could want out of this trope. Danger, Mystery, and Suspense. Let’s not forget the SEXY TENSION. This ending though……! Oh my sweet jesus, I NEED MORE! I can’t wait to sink my teeth into Violent Ends (White Monarch #2)!!! I NEED IT NOW!
