Blurb:

I’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.

Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?

(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)

Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away.  She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.

I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.

But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.

Even if it means giving her up.

My heart just cracked wide open for Frannie and Mack. I legit can’t deal with all of the cuteness that is wrapped up in this novel and then those angsty moments. My heart was definitely put through the wringer with this one!

About Irresistible:

Irresistible is the first book in the Cloverleigh Farms series. Melanie Harlow is bringing us back to the country! Ah, I freaking love her country-style romances and the fact that this novel is set in Michigan is also another plus for me!

Mack is a single father of three little girls all under the age of twelve. Some days are rough, and some days he feels like he has no life outside of his daughters, but he wouldn’t trade fatherhood for anything in the world. and given what the four of them went through with the girls’ mother, he isn’t about to let anything or anyone break the barrier that he has surrounding them. and that includes a sweet and sassy blonde.

Frannie’s life started on a rough note, being diagnosed and having three open heart surgeries before the age of ten set everything into motion. She’s always felt isolated from her sisters, and she has her parents overprotectiveness to thank for that. Now though, Frannie is ready to stand her ground and work independently towards something that she wants for a change and that’s to open a little bakery while still being a part-time nanny for Mack’s three girls.

Frannie has been crushing hard on Mack from the moments she first set her sights on him, but given a ten-year age gap, Mack never saw Frannie that way. Until now! Now Mack can’t seem to get Frannie out of his head. He knows he can never pursue a relationship with her given their age difference, the fact that her father is his boss, and he has his three little girls to think about. But fate works in mysterious ways.

My Thoughts:

Irresistible by Melanie Harlow is a great start to the Cloverleigh Farms series. Not only is this novel sweet and sassy, but Harlow adds a touch of angst that had my heart splitting in two.

My greatest weakness when reading a romance novel is when an author includes kids. Melanie Harlow gives us not one, but three sweet and sassy little girls. Honestly, every page there was either a smile on my face or, towards the end, a tear in my eye. I loved the scenes that involved Millie, Felicity, and Winifred! These scenes definitely made the novel that much more!

One of my favorite things about this novel had to be watching, what I would imagine, a real life single father’s day-to-day when it comes to raising three little girls. I loved the hardships and the moments where he lashed out for no apparent reason. Most times in romance novels these scenes are sugar-coated or are simply subtracted from the novel. Not everyday is a brady bunch episode. There are good days but more than most, there are days where the frustration levels are being tested and patience is wearing thin. I loved the fact that Melanie Harlow showed those moments. It added a dose of reality to the fiction.

Overall, Irresistible by Melanie Harlow is spot on when it comes to experiencing all the feels! I couldn’t get enough and I can’t wait to continue on with this series.

Peace Love and Happy Reading,
