“I wouldn’t have been caught dead in here a year ago. Don’t take that the wrong way- I’m not a snob. Growing up, my mom and I spent hours combing the racks at the secondhand store. And that was back when secondhand was called Goodwill, and the stores were predominantly in blue-collar neighborhoods.”

Hate Notes

By: Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Montlake Romance
Publication Date: November 6th, 2018

Blurb:

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.

Something blue.

Iโ€™d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. Thatโ€™s when I found another brideโ€™s โ€œsomething old.โ€

Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message Iโ€™d ever read:ย Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The name embossed on the blue stationery:ย Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered heโ€™s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because Iโ€™ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.

Heโ€™s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, heโ€™s my new boss. But thatโ€™s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that didย notย result in a happily ever after.

Butย thatย story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. Itโ€™s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.

Something new.

But I have no idea how this one is going to endโ€ฆ

  1. Happy Friday!

My first lines come from Tin God by Stacy Green….

โ€œThatโ€™s impossible.โ€ Jaymeeโ€™s stomach lurched and then spiraled to her toes. The meager window air conditioner in the managerโ€™s trailer did nothing for her constricted lungs. She shifted as the torn plastic of the junky folding chair cut into the back of her thigh. โ€œMy boyfriendโ€“ex-boyfriendโ€“paid the rent. I gave him the money last week.โ€

Have an awesome weekend and Happy Holidays!๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’•

  2. On my blog, I am featuring Lady Jayne Disappears by Joanna Davidson Politano. Since it’s also my current read, I will share the first line from the 28th chapter: “I watched the moon from my window that night, knees tucked to my chest as I curled into the wingback chair.” I wish you a joy-filled Merry Christmas!

  3. Happy Friday!
This week I’m sharing from Castle on the Rise by Kristy Cambron (I have an ARCโ€ฆ doesn’t release until Feb 2019), but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (18) here: “Maeve had just put down her quill to close the estate ledger when the alarm bell clanged outside.” Hope you have the chance to get some reading in this weekend and have a very Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ™‚
