WWW Wednesday | 5-23-18

WWW Wednesday is a weekly book meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Each week there are three questions that we answer.

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you plan on reading next?

Yet again, I am late posting my WWW Wednesday. I have a great excuse though. I was outside on this very beautiful day reading and when I wasn’t reading I was mowing and pulling weeds from my flower beds…..FUN STUFF….NOT! My hands do not appreciate the hard labor they’ve endured today. Nah, I actually really enjoy doing outside work. I am from Michigan and we only get a few months out of the year to enjoy this weather so everyday I take advantage of it.

Anywho, lets get to the books I read this week and the books I plan on reading next!

What are you currently reading-

I’m getting ready to start an arc of The Sinister Silhouette by Alex Grayson! I know I’m a little behind with my arc tbr given that this book releases on Friday. I am very optimistic that I will have the book read and my review up by Friday! As for, if i’m enjoying it or not, well I can’t tell you because I haven’t started it yet. The blurb though leads me to think I’m going to love the hell out of this novel! We shall see!

“Luca…”

She whispers my name at night, filling my dreams with her haunting beauty.

Her tormented amber eyes beg me for something I don’t understand, and her agonizing pain becomes my own.

For years, she’s come to me, calling my name.

For years, I’ve never known who she was.

Until now…

I’m also one chapter away from finishing my arc copy of Your Rhythm by Katia Rose! I really enjoyed Matt and Kay and this rockstar romance! It was interesting to read about a band who is all about the music. I can’t wait to see the journey these men of Sherbrook Station take us on next! My review will be posted sometime tomorrow morning.

You know what they say: save a snare, bang a drummer.

Kay Fischer is well aware of what they say, and she intends to ignore it completely.

After her first step into the world of music journalism ended with a screw-up so royal it deserved a crown, Kay’s been struggling to re-stack the building blocks of her career. Enter Sherbrooke Station, the latest alt-rock craze to grace Montreal’s legendary music scene.

A front page feature on the band everyone’s talking about seems like a foolproof shot at success, even after Kay meets their drummer. Matt Pearson might have a smile sexy enough to be the eighth deadly sin and a passion for music so powerful it makes her heart ache, but Kay’s got things under control.

She’s a professional, goddammit, and a professional would not get tongue-tied over a source, even a source who’s a six-foot, tattooed rock god with an affinity for tight jeans.

A professional would not find herself opening her door at an hour long past midnight to pull said source inside and lead him to her bed.

No, that’s not at all what a professional would do.

‘Your Rhythm’ is part of the Sherbrooke Station Quartet, a series of steamy rock star standalones from the author of ‘Latte Girl’ and ‘Thigh Highs.’

I read a pretty great amount so far this week. First I read and finished Fighting for Everything by Laura Kaye! Fighting For Everything is a story about one man’s journey of dealing with PTSD and how his mental diagnosis affects his everyday routines and relationships. This novel was a punch to the heart. I felt so sad for Noah and so greatful he has someone like Kristina in his life, no matter how many times he tries to push her away to protect her. Fighting For Everything is such a meaningful story! I couldn’t get enough!

Loving her is the biggest fight of his life…

Home from the Marines, Noah Cortez has a secret he doesn’t want his oldest friend, Kristina Moore, to know. It kills him to push her away, especially when he’s noticing just how sexy and confident she’s become in his absence. But, angry and full of fight, he’s not the same man anymore either. Which is why Warrior Fight Club sounds so good.

Kristina loves teaching, but she wants more out of life. She wants Noah—the boy she’s crushed on and waited for. Except Noah is all man now—in ways both oh so good and troubling, too. Still, she wants who he’s become—every war-hardened inch. And when they finally stop fighting their attraction, it’s everything Kristina never dared hope for.

But Noah is secretly spiraling, and when he lashes out, it threatens what he and Kristina have found. The brotherhood of the fight club helps him confront his demons, but only Noah can convince the woman he loves that he’s finally ready to fight for everything.

I also finished an arc copy of Allure by C.A. Harms. Allure is the first novel in the Brooklet Dreams series! I can already tell that i’m going to love this series! Allure is a novel about a man finally finding the strength to move on from his first love and the woman who he thought he would spend his forever with. My heart broke time and time again for Rhett and his situation. This man is one of the good ones, he’s sweet and swoony. He’s a double threat. He didn’t deserve the pain he endured but its a pain that every person feels at least once in their lives. I loved AJ and her ability to give Rhett time to move on before she let her feelings be known. AJ and Rhett are so stinkin’ cute! I couldn’t get enough of these two! I need more! I have to say though, there was a tad bit of unnecessary drama towards the end, but It wouldn’t be a new adult novel without the drama.

  1. I’ve only read one Laura Kaye novel and I really liked it. I hadn’t seen this one yet. I think I might have to read it. Hopefully it was good.
