A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.
For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.
In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.
Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.
For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.
Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story continues in Blood Match.

Blood Type is the first novel in the Blood Type Series by K.A. Linde….Warning, This novel ends with a huge cliffy!
I have been on a serious paranormal kick this month. I don’t know why, it just all of a sudden came over me. After reading the synopsis for Blood type and seeing this cover, how could I not request a copy!
This novel took me on a journey that is so unlike what I imagined. Reyna is at her wits end. She can’t get a job, and she’s sick of seeing her brothers go to work and bust their asses with the results showing nothing. So she does what any desperate person would do, she gets in touch with Visage. Visage is a corporation that specializes in ‘body employment’ services. in short term, Vampires employ humans as blood donors.
Beckham Anderson is a vampire who carries his secrets close to him, he’s also a beast and one who is most feared. When Reyna is matched to be Beckham’s blood employee, she thinks it’ll be a walk in the park….until feelings get involved and wires get crossed.
I’ve read stacks upon stacks of paranormal novels in my lifetime but I don’t remember ever reading a novel with this type of content. I was intrigued by Reyna and her poverty driven lifestyle. Then after joining Visage, she’s given the fairytale of lavish gowns and riches only she could imagine in her dreams, but that doesn’t make her happy. She wants friendship and the feeling of being wanted. She’s definitely a woman that cannot be bought.
Then we have Beckham Anderson. Throughout this novel Beckham is listed to be a lethal vampire who can turn in a seconds time. I didn’t feel that vibe from him. In fact for a Vampire he kind of bored me in the beginning. It’s during the halfway point where I finally got a glimpse of the vampire everyone says is to be feared. One thing that redeemed his character, in my eyes, is the mysterious vibe that came from him. This Vampire has his secrets and he keeps them close.
Throughout this novel, I had a love/hate relationship with Reyna and Beckham. Usually I dont’ mind a back and forth relationship, but this situation was a tad bit aggravating, I now understand the reasoning behind why the back and forth was drawn out though.
As for the ending, if you all don’t like cliffy’s I highly suggest you wait until the second book comes out. This ends with a huge cliffhanger that has me wanting and needing answers…Immediately!
Overall, this was a great read with original ideas and genius situations. I just wish the back and forth between the main characters wasn’t drawn out so much.
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
