Monthly Wrap up

Another month checked off for 2018. I can’t believe tomorrow is officially March and with March comes some kickass new releases and a huge TBR, but that’s for another post. This post is all about What February brought me. So let’s get started.

~ My Challenges~

I set several challenges for myself to accomplish throughout the year. I want to read a new-to-me author every month, I also want to read 3-5 paperbacks from my bookshelf tbr, and I plan on reading 200 books this year for the Goodreads challenge. Let’s see if I accomplished my goals for this month.

~New-To-Me Authors~

I read a few authors that are new to me this month. Jack Davenport, Tara Leigh, Jiffy Kate, and L.K. Farlow were all new to me. Here’s my first thoughts on the authors.

Jack Davenport: My first impression on Jack Davenport’s writing is….This man knows how to write whether it be fierce and vicious characters or swoony sexy time scenes. I actually really enjoyed Minus, that is probably surprising due to the fact that I gave it a 3.5 star rating. I have to admit, the character chemistry needed some work and that distracted me a bit. As for the writing, I really loved the way he caught my attention with a new take to the world of MC Romance. I’m intrigued by Jack Davenport and can’t wait to read more from him in the future.

Tara Leigh: My first impression of Tara Leigh, I liked her writing style and how she kept me intrigued, but I needed more from the plot and character interactions. That’s seems to be a redundant statement with these new-to-me authors.

Jiffy Kate: This duo is freaking phenomenal…that is my first impression. I was literally blown away by Taming Trouble. I’m looking forward to future reads!

L.K. Farlow: I recently was gifted a copy of Coming Up Roses which is L.K. Farlow’s debut novel and I am impressed. I love the writing flow, she has the ability to keep her reader’s on the edge of their seats with the simplicity and emotional character chemistry and connections. I am completely blown away and am already planning on reading An Uphill Battle in March.

~Paperback Bookshelf~ย

One thing I want to accomplish this year is to read at least half of the unread books on my bookshelf. I plan to read at least 3 paperbacks a month, hopefully I can keep to it. With that being said, I read 3 paperbacks this month. click on the title for more book information.

Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward
Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
Craving by Helen Hardt

~Goodreads Challenge~

I also am participating in the Goodreads reading challenge this year. My goal is to read 200 books in 2018. So far I have read 39 books and am currently 7 books ahead of schedule.
