Synopsis:

When the new girl in town, Eliza “Izzy” Forrester decides to hit the local drinking hole, she’s not ready to meet the town’s good, solid guy. She’s definitely not prepared to engage in her very first hookup with him.

Then Izzy wakes up the next morning in Johnny Gamble’s bed and good girl Izzy finds she likes being bad for Johnny.

And Izzy knew the stakes, so she makes it easy and slips through his fingers.

But that’s before Johnny realizes Eliza moved to town to escape danger that’s been swirling around her.

And that’s why Johnny decides to wade in.

That and the fact Eliza Forrester makes breakfast with a canary singing on her shoulder and fills out tight dresses in a way Johnny Gamble cannot get out of his head.

Starting this review on an honesty note..I wasn’t expecting to love this novel as much as I did. I’m also not going to dive into the story line because some things are best left to experience for the first time while reading and not in a review.

Johnny Gamble is a loner with a broken heart. This man is everything. Looking for your newest book boyfriend? Look no further and pick this book up. Johnny isn’t the bad boy I expected him to be. In fact Johnny is the golden boy with a rough exterior and Alpha tendencies.

Eliza Forrester is the new girl in town. She’s quiet and shy, she’s your typical good girl. That is unless you get under her skin and piss her off, then she’s feisty and stubborn. When Eliza meets Johnny at the local bar she doesn’t expect the insane attraction that hits them both nor does she expect to ‘hookup’ with him, because that’s not the type of girl she is. But with Johnny she’s about to learn the type of girl she’s always wanted to be is about to be unleashed.

Okay, laying it all out there in the open, I loved the hell out of Johnny and Eliza. I loved their relationship and Johnny’s way of getting under Eliza’s skin. Eliza never really opens up to people who aren’t in her close circle of friends and her sister, given the childhood she had and the things she witnessed, so when she started opening up to Johnny…sigh. It added just a little extra to their relationship and gave this novel that ‘feel good’ vibe I have been craving.

The Hookup is romantic, Sexy, and has the feel good vibes. I loved how one minute this novel was super sexy and then the next it literally put a goofy ass smile on my face by the cuteness. This novel also has some angst. Both Johnny and Izzy are dealing with different types of heartbreak, which means in certain aspects the angst factor goes up a notch.

I highly recommend this novel! I cannot wait to read more in this series!
