When I first started Southern Attraction by Kaylee Ryan I had two expectations. I expected a heartwarming country story and a swoony true to the name country boy. Holy Hell did Kaylee Ryan ever deliver! Mike is the swooniest of all characters. I am in love with this fictional country boy!

Country Boy, Mike, is all about work and his legacy which happens to be the bar his father has handed down to him. He hasn’t had a relationship in two years and frankly doesn’t want one. That is until he meets his buddy’s girlfriends best friend Jamie.

City Girl, Jamie, is a paralegal making her way up in the world. Her dreams are as far as the eye can see. When she decides to go visit her best friend in Tennessee she doesn’t expect to fall in love with the land, the people, and she didn’t expect to slowly give her heart to the one man she can’t be with. Mike.

Throughout the novel Jamie and Mike struggle with the distance between them but as their relationship grows the times spent together are more meaningful than the time before. The separation between their hometowns and their own lives is a struggle, and even though each has their moments of questioning whether or not this relationship is really worth it in the end, Mike and Jamie fight for what they want.

Mike is a true to the word country boy. He respects his mama, loves his family and treats a lady right, but you get this man in the bedroom and their he lets his inner alpha shine bright.

The first half of Mike and Jamie’s story is literally filled with combustible sexual tension. They both want each other but aren’t willing to give in until they know for a fact which direction their relationship is heading in. They took the time to form a friendship that set roots to what will eventually grow into an everlasting relationship.

Southern Attraction was a great ‘City Girl meets Country Boy’ novel. I loved Jamie’s independent nature and Mike’s adoration towards everything he’s passionate about. Mike is a country boy with a heart of gold.

I loved the hell out of Southern Attraction and highly recommend it to everyone looking for a feel good novel. Even though this is the third book in the Southern Hearts series it can 100% be read as a standalone…..although….I also highly recommend the other two novels in the Southern Heart series. Don’t miss out on this amazingly sweet and sexy country boys and their girls!
