Holding Onto Forever is an all-consuming emotional page turner! I couldn’t put this novel down!
I have to make a confession….Forever My Girl is the one and only book I’ve read from the Beaumont Series…OMG….What is wrong with me. I need all the books now. Holding Onto Forever is a novel that you should go into blind. Don’t read the blurb. Don’t read the spoiler reviews. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Because this is a second generation series I was worried that I would be confused, even though it clearly says this can be read as a standalone, sometimes that isn’t the case and confusion can cloud the premise of the story. But I’m happy to say….that is not the case. This novel gave the right amount of background information between previous characters in the Beaumont series.
Peyton has dreams of being a sports broadcaster, her love for football is strong thanks to best friend Noah. When Peyton was five her birth father, Mason, was in a car accident leaving behind his two twin daughters and a wife. Peyton leaned on Noah throughout her life’s hardships. They were two peas in a pod. That is until Noah went off to college and then started life as an NFL player.
Noah has always loved Peyton, but at a young age he viewed that love to be wrong due to the closeness of their families. One night is all it took for those walls to come crashing down. Noah has to tell her how he feels but when Peyton starts talking about college and her excitement to finally be free to venture the world on her own, Noah again puts his feelings to the side and does what is right by her.
Until it happens..and all bets are off…….
I have never cried this much while reading a novel and that’s saying a whole hell of a lot, I love my angst.
The first chapter I shed a couple of tears and by the fifth I was in FULL UGLY CRY MODE! This novel fed my emotions. I didn’t know it was possible to feel that many emotions in a single moment while reading. I’m just thankful I had the house to myself!
Noah and Peyton’s story is heartbreaking with an underlying hope. When everyone was giving up on Peyton, Noah was right there fighting for her. I was right there along with him screaming at my kindle. I know how it feels to be in that situation, to be the only one to have hope in a situation that dire.
It’s difficult to write this review and not give away spoilers. Every year I have a few chosen novels that stick with me. Holding Onto Forever is one of those novels. Peyton and Noah’s story is one that literally consumed my mind, heart, and soul. The fear of the unknown is what I loved about it. I reluctantly flipped through the pages not knowing if the next one was going to bring more heartbreak. I felt the fear that Peyton was feeling along with the turmoil the whole freaking family felt.
Now that I’m finished reading Holding Onto Forever, I can say this with a clear mind. Holding Onto Forever is my #1 Favorite novel of 2017.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Peace Love and Happy Reading,
