They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what beautiful chaos it will be.

4.5 ‘Trent ‘FREAKING’ Rexroth’ STARS!

Let me tell you about this man, Don’t take the fact that he is quiet lightly, they say the quietest people are the deadliest people and this man has a mean streak in every aspects of his life except for when it comes to his daughter!

Trent is a struggling single father to a daughter that is Mute. Refusing to talk or show any sign of emotion when in Trent’s presence is wearing on him. That is until an eighteen year old spitefire named Edie Van Der Zee comes into the picture. I loved the connection between Edie and Luna! I loved the fact that Edie found a way of getting Luna to express herself. It was sweet and endearing.

As for Edie and Trent. Their relationship through this novel was (in my opinion) hilarious. I really enjoyed the fact that Trent finally met his match. Edie had a backbone and didn’t back down for the many fights and banters between the two.

Edie Van Der Zee has always lived under her dad’s thumb. Jordan Van Der Zee ruled his castle with an iron fist guarded with a mote of secrets. While Edie just wanted to surf and live life to the fullest her dad saw a different future for her. One full of riches and wealth and keeping the Van Der Zee name shiny and spotless.

Overall, Scandalous was addicting! I could not put this book down. I loved Trent, Edie, and Luna!

Peace Love and Happy Reading,
