If you are new to the Sin City Outlaws series, It is not mandatory but I highly recommend you read Reign and then Mercy before jumping into Retaliate. There is a ton of background story that you will need from those two books when diving into Retaliate. Plus why would you want to miss out on ZEEK!!! Sigh….I love me some ZEEK!

Felix and Alessandra’s story is sexy and dangerous.

“I think my blue bird is a dirty bird”

The beginning of Retaliate starts off with a WTF prologue. We learn of a child named Brown 5, We learn this child is being trained as a weapon and forced to fight other children that are also held captive. Throughout the novel that prologue lives in the back of your memories and your completely involved and waiting for this WTF moment to reveal itself!

Felix is the Vice President of the Sin City Outlaws, he has one rule and one rule only, never get involved with a cop. He views those that are involved with cops as traitors. Alessandra isn’t like most cops, she’s not dirty and she’s not the good guy, she’s somewhere in between. Fighting for what is right and helping those that have done wrong.

“She’s a vixen hiding behind a toxic badge.”

Alessandra is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to physically protecting herself, Felix is intrigued from the fearlessness he sees in her eyes. After the club is put on lock down, Zeek orders Felix to follow Alessandra and watch out for her when she’s not on the job. Even though the two physically hate each other and are total opposites, emotionally they are connected. There is a strong bond that the two can’t seem to fight no matter how hard they try.

“The devil is dancing in those Angelic eyes. She’s full of temptation and charm and she knows it. I want to know her story, I need to know it. Because right now I’m a fucking hypocrite”

This isn’t your typical Bad Guy/Cop romance. Felix and Alessandra’s story is raw with a dangerous vibe that I love when it comes to MC romance novels.

“She’s lost and I’m the reaper that’s willing to show her the dark side. The tips of her white angelic wings are dipped in black, she just needs to be held under to fully commit to her inner demons.”

I wish there were more of a back story when it came to Felix, There were a few glimpses and pieces of his story put into place, but I would have liked more.

I loved seeing Felix’s soft side after Alessandra’s ‘accident’, but I’m a sucker for a rugged scary man with a hidden heart of gold!

I’m in lust with this series, I can’t wait for Machete’s story!!!
