Millie Cross knows what it’s like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and he was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn’t be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie’s chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can’t ignore. And this time, she won’t let him ride off . . .
Bad boy Logan “High” Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she’s just a ghost of her former self. High’s intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn’t want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie’s betrayal, he’ll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man
Walk Through Fire is the fourth book in the Chaos series. These novels can ‘technically’ be read as standalone but given the character progression I would read these novels in order. Plus why wouldn’t you…All these stories are freaking amazing!
Walk Through Fire is Logan ‘High’ Judd and Millie’s story. This is also a second chance romance involving middle age characters.
twenty years ago Logan met the love of his life in Millie. Three years of complete and utter bliss ended one night when Millie broke Logan’s heart. Logan walked away without a glance back.
Now Twenty years later Millie is back and Logan is furious, but Millie has been living with a secret that she feels needs to be shared in order to start living her life again.
One thing I loved about High and Millie’s story is the realism behind the issues portrayed in this novel. Millie let High go so he could live out his dreams, dreams that she found she couldn’t give him. It broke my heart going back to the past and getting glimpses of the love these two characters shared long ago and then coming back to the here and now and seeing a love that was clearly meant to be being covered up by so much confusion.
Eventually High and Millie’s path of destruction comes to blows and Millie lets him know why she forced him to walk away.
What broke my heart further was the fact that Millie lived twenty years as a shell of a person she once was. Then for her to find High again and start to come out of that shell only to learn he had moved on and fathered two kids, kids that she dreamed of giving him but found out early in life that would never be part of the equation. My heart freaking broke for her. So now not only does Millie have to find her way back to the woman who High used to know and love. She also has the stress of pleasing his kids and always having the fact she couldn’t give him that living in the back of her mind. I loved watching High’s oldest daughter warm up to Millie and the events that brought Zadie (High’s youngest daughter) and Millie together was a scene i will never forget.
Besides all of the emotional stuff. There is also the issue of Benito Valenzuela. He keeps making an appearance and I am dying to find out what the hell his story is. Usually i hate the villains of the novels but this particular man has me very intrigued. Also what the hell is up with Hound and Keely???
This series is a definite MUST READ!
