“Life is not without pain and sorrow, but it’s the pieces in between that we have to hold on to”

I Loved Southern Desire. Just an FYI southern Desire can be read as a standalone. I haven’t had the pleasure of reading the first novel yet but that is now added to my TBR List! But i wasn’t the slightest bit confused with the story line or background info.

Southern Desire is sweet and sensual with just the perfect hint of angst.

Aaron and Whitney’s story had me in tears. But not tears caused by sadness. I was happy throughout this novel. I loved watched Whitney let down her guard and open her heart to Aaron, just like her mama wanted her to.

I respect the aspect of this novel that involves losing a parent. It was written flawlessly. Some may think that Whitney should have gotten over it by now but no matter who you are or how old you are its never easy and you never get over it.

In moving on from her mother’s death Whitney has pushed all of the emotions down deep in order to protect others around her. She decides to move to Kentucky with her cousin Olivia in order to put the darkness of losing her mother and bringing forth the light that comes in the memories.

Damn, the way Aaron cared for Whitney emotionally had me a blubbering mess. The moments where it was just the two of them and he was trying to get her mind off the darkness and bring a smile to her face had me smiling and giggling like a goof.

It’s an amazing thing when an author gets so deep into the story line that it makes the reader feel like they are in the background listening to the conversation or observing from the sidelines. I literally felt like i was immersed in this story line. I felt all the emotions and cried so many damn times along with Whitney. I feel like i know these characters, that takes a kick ass writer to make their readers feel like they are part of the story.

This novel made me feel a sense of nostalgia. Now i’m homesick and have a sudden need to call my mom and dad! The family aspect in this novel was one of my favorite parts. I loved the respect that Aaron had for his parents.

Thank you for writing an amazing novel and i look forward to reading more from you in the future!

Worth the read! Pick it up!
