Synopsis:

The second novel in New York Times bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin’s Boys of Summer baseball series.

Cooper Bailey finally has a shot at being a major league ballplayer, but it will take all his focus and energy during spring training to make it happen. Complicating things is his instantaneous connection with Ainsley Burke. He can’t get enough of her, and before he knows it, they’re spending every night together. But as happy as he is off the field, his focus on it is suffering, and he isn’t willing to risk his lifelong dream over a girl.

But without Ainsley, Cooper’s miserable, and his game is still off. No matter what he tries, he can’t get her out of his head, and he’s starting to realize that maybe he doesn’t want to. Baseball is just a game, but Ainsley might be the real thing. Now he just has to convince her of that.

My Thoughts:

I received an ARC of home run through Netgalley to read and review

Home Run is the second book in the boys of the summer series. home run can also be read as a standalone.

I fell hard for Cooper Bailey’s character. he was adorable when it came to Ainsley Burke.

Cooper is a rookie for the Boston Renegades. He’s ‘s on his way to the top with big dreams and some serious goals in mind. but he is quick to learn that sometimes the team goals are worth more than your own goals.

Ainsley is a zookeeper who has recently stepped down from tending the animals to care for her mother who is losing her battle to cancer.

Cooper is hung up on Ainsley when he meets her at a Charity event for underprivileged kids taken place at the zoo. one look and the chemistry between the two sparks but Ainsley has sworn of athletes after she got her heart broken from a football player.

I remember yelling several times at my kindle for Ainsley to get over her issues and give Cooper a chance.

Home Run is a really cute story!

I loved Cooper! I can’t wait to read more of The Boys of Summer!

I especially can’t wait to read Travis Kidd’s story!!!

I loved home run and highly recommend it to all the sports romance lovers!

  1. I wish her books would do it for me, I really do! I’m a sucker for jock books. So I don’t understand why her books aren’t HITS for me. Maybe her writing. It really sucks for me.:D But I’m glad you loved it!!

    1. I’m not familiar with her writing. I think I’ve read two books by her. This one i loved but the last one i remember not liking at all. It depends on the subject and how much research and digging down deep into that subject the author does. This one had a ton of baseball in it and I’m a huge baseball lover ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Ah, that makes sense!! Maybe I should give this one a try. I love if books are well researched and I learn something new. Have you read Moonshot by Alessandra Torre, or The Hard Count by Ginger Scott? Both I thought were excellently researched and I had a blast reading it. The first one was about baseball, the second about football.
