Synopsis
He’s football’s poster boy with one thing on his mind. Well, perhaps two things, but Shay Cunningham’s outstanding football career and contract negotiations take precedent over everything else. Even women. Living life to the extreme, Shay’s past indiscretions continue to fuel his lifestyle. And that’s just how he likes it.
Whitney Scott is broke, anxious and afraid. After an unexpected break up with her newborn baby’s father, her life is a mess. Down on her luck, she’s working hard to solidify her-and her baby’s-future. One uncertain step at a time.
When an emergency thrusts Shay and Whitney together will one heavy dose of uncertainty push them apart? Or will they be willing to make a Hail Mary pass with their hearts-trusting that the other one will catch it?

My Thoughts:
Hail Mary is the one your not going to want to miss out on!
HAIL MARY IS PHENOMENAL!! I loved every bit of Shay and Whitney’s story. Shay and Whitney will have you believing in soul mates and true love.
Shay is a playboy man whore with a hidden heart of gold. He’s enjoying his Man Whore status and thinks nothing could be better…that is until he finds Whitney in distress and going into labor in the basement of the arena. After getting Whitney to the hospital and holding her hand through the birth of her little girl Quinn. Shay’s protective instincts kick in. He tries to avoid his feelings knowing Whitney and her daughter Quinn Deserve better than a man like him especially due to the fact that the previous man in Whitney’s life had done enough damage.
He will do anything to protect the two and that means avoiding his true feelings but he will soon learn sometimes you can’t avoid the inevitable.
Shay is swoon worthy. I loved how he was a hard ass with everyone and then when he focused on Quinn he was nothing but a gentle softie. That right there is unconditional love. Anyone can father a child but it takes a true man to stand by no matter what happens in life and help raise the child.
“I love you, Sunshine,” he promised. His heart thumping against his chest, he swore she could hear it. “And i love Quinn,” his voice shook, but he didn’t care. “And i’m not going anywhere. And certainly not without my girls.”
One thing I love in novels is a great family aspect that’s exactly what Hail Mary is about. I loved how close Shay’s family was and how buried beneath the surface Shay was the ideal family man. You could sense that from the beginning of the novel when Shay helped Whitney through the birthing process of Quinn and when he laid his eyes on Quinn and Whitney’s first moment together. But it was even stronger when he went home and faced the crap that he was running from. Mainly his brother Rory.
Every relationship has struggles. In Shay and Whitney’s, the struggles are their inner demons and their pasts that they have to eventually deal with before they both can truly be happy together.
The Epilogue will no doubt have your ovaries on overload! Shay actually made me cry with his Christmas gift to Whitney….Sigh….What can I say, Shay is officially my football book boyfriend!!!
Peace, Love, and Happy Reading,
Alecia @ The Staircase Reader
