Synopsis:

In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (“A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!”—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love.

After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She’s closing in on the site’s heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend’s business partner and her lover, by her side. She’d thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing?

Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn’t exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT’s trust and pretend that they’re still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.

Note: Sugar Rush ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story concludes in Sugar Free!

First of all let it be known that Sugar Rush is NOT a standalone. If you haven’t read Sugar Daddy (book #1) you should start with that one before you even consider reading Sugar Rush. With that being said my review for Sugar Rush will include small spoilers for Sugar Daddy.

Sugar Rush takes place right where Sugar Daddy left off. After the brutal sob fest Sugar Daddy left me in i wasn’t sure how exactly to start reading Sugar Rush. I know it sounds weird but i knew it was going to start off with me being a big baby all over again. So in a way i had to prepare myself for what was sure to be a rocky start.

I was right…Sugar Rush starts off by not just tugging at your heart strings but completely obliterating them. I hated Beck during the start of this novel. I couldn’t understand how this man that supposedly cared so deeply for Sela could turn his back on her.

But thankfully that didn’t last very long before he decided he was in the wrong and chased after her.

When Sela sat down and told Beck the story of how she was raped and her plan to find and murder her rapist…i’m not going to lie. I cried. Trust me when you read his reactions and the fact that he wanted her to stop her story but she kept going on and revealing all the horrible details of that night that her innocence was stolen you may not cry but i can guarantee there will be a build up of emotions and your heart will feel like it’s been stomped on five million times.

Sugar Rush centers around a plan to seek revenge  on the man that wronged Sela in the worst way possible. A man that stole a sixteen year old’s innocence. A man by the name of JT.

Sugar Rush is an emotional roller coaster full of twists and turns. Not to mention a killer cliffhanger that will leave you saying WHAT THE F*CK!!!

Thank god for Netgalley and the fact that i’m about to read an ARC of Sugar Free (The third and final book). I think i’d go crazy not knowing what happens. I’m not a very patient person 🙂

I love this series there isn’t a single thing i would change about it.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve read Sugar Rush, i’d love to know what others opinions are on this series so far!

  1. Gosh! So every book in this series ends with a cliffhanger? Are all the books in the series out on the market? I would better not read until all are available because I dislike cliffhanger a lot! This book has rape so I can imagine I will cry too.

    1. yeah. i try to mention triggers discreetly 🙁 Yes all the books end in huge cliffhangers. The final book (Sugar Free) comes out October 11th
