Synopsis

With friends like these…

It’s the end of summer. Just before I start senior year with my two best friends in the whole world. Dustin and Emily are everything to me. We’ve been inseparable since middle school, and when we’re together, nothing can go wrong.

But things aren’t always what they seem. Em’s turned into a drunken mess who parties too much. Dustin and I have hooked up a few times–and now he’s ready to take our relationship to the next level. Yet I’m not sure I want things to change. I’m scared if I take it any further with Dustin, our friendship will be ruined forever. Then there’s Ryan. The new guy. He’s hot. He flirts way too much. And Em has totally set her sights on him.

So when my best friend betrays me in the worst possible way, guess who’s there to help me pick up the pieces of my broken heart? Ryan. But he’s so confusing. Annoying. Sweet. Sexy. I want to trust him, yet he makes it so hard. What I really want is for everything to go back to the way it was before.

Before I found out that best friends make the worst kind of enemies.

My Review:

I received an ARC of Just Friends from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Talk about high school drama. Just Friends is full of it.

So to start off we have four characters that are the main overachievers in this novel (don’t ask why i call them overachievers that’s the first word that came to mind when thinking of this cluster f*ck group of teens.)

First off we have Olivia but she goes by Livvey.
Then We have Emily who goes by Em.
Em and Livvey are best friends.
Then throw Dustin into the picture.
Dustin and Livvey have been best friends since grade school.
Now toss in the NEW KID Ryan.
Ryan is a player who always gets what he wants.
He’s had Em now he wants Livvey…
Now when you throw Jealousy in the mix between these 4 people what do you get..
…a lot of F*cking drama….

The only way i can describe my reading through Just Friends is like this….

Just Friends is like CRACK…You know it’s no good for you but you continue reading anyways. It’s an addiction. Out of Control. Crazy.

The only sane character in this novel is Amanda. She’s a smart cookie….keeps her secrets to herself.

We have all had that one friend. You know the one. She gets jealous of everything you have and everything you do. She wants what is rightfully yours and she’ll do everything in her power to make it happen. Yep everyone’s had an EM in their lives.

Usually in novels we tend to choose sides based on how we think the story line is going to go. I found this extremely difficult to do.

Everyone has wronged someone in this novel. That is everyone except for Amanda. But the four main’s in Just Friends are all completely disturbed mentally. How could you do that to your friends. Ugh i don’t even understand.

I found i disliked Livvey the most which is odd because i’m usually rooting for the main character. but i found Livvey to be really immature not to mention Em had Ryan first and she was one hundred percent in the wrong for pursuing her best friends “ex-whatever they called it”

I did however really like Just Friends. I feel really disturbed now after admitting that. I will be the first to also admit that i love love love drama in novels. Just Friends was packed full of high school juvenile drama. If that is what your into when it comes to reading i highly recommend this novel to you but be warned Just Friends ends with a small cliffhanger!

Thank you for checking out my review

Peace, Love, and Happy Reading
